    Kurzat R, SP is a means of protecting vegetable crops, potatoes and grapes from late blight, downy mildew and mildew. The drug has a local-systemic effect, is characterized by a long period of protective action, and works as a preventive and therapeutic agent.

    The fungicide is especially effective for prevention or at the initial stage of infection. Due to the copper content in the composition, the pesticide does not cause resistance in pathogenic microorganisms.

    The preparative form in which the fungicide is produced, wetting powder (SP), is well stored and does not lose its medicinal properties for a long time. After diluting the powder with water, a stable suspension is formed that adheres to the plant, which reduces the loss of the drug during spraying.

    The drug Kurzat: reviews of those who used the fungicide

    Anna, 45 years old, Ufa Most of my plot is occupied by potatoes, which my husband and I grow not only for ourselves, but also for sale. Last season, dark spots appeared on the foliage and stems of potato bushes, and I immediately realized that my potatoes were affected by late blight. I spent a long time choosing a product for processing potatoes in the store; the seller suggested Kurzat fungicide. I diluted the product according to the instructions, but at this stage of development of late blight, the product turned out to be ineffective. But in the following seasons, I treated my potatoes with it for preventive purposes; as a result, the potatoes were not exposed to this fungal disease throughout the season. Therefore, Kurzat is effective as a prophylactic agent, but at an advanced stage of late blight, more powerful drugs are already required.

    Mikhail, 50 years old, Nizhny Novgorod Last season, downy mildew appeared in my vineyard, as a result we were left without a harvest. At the beginning of this season, we did not take risks and, for preventive purposes, treated our grape plantation with a Kurzat fungicide solution. In total, treatments were carried out three times with an interval of 1.5 weeks and as a result, our vineyard was not affected by this fungal disease.

    This fungicidal drug is an effective means for protecting and combating pathogenic microorganisms on vegetable plants and grapes

    . You can also use Kurzat R as a prophylactic against various fungi. In this case, crop plants will be protected from pathogens for a long time. It is important to observe the dosage and adhere to the directions for use of the product.

    Composition of the drug, active substance

    Kurzat fungicide is a two-component pesticide. It contains copper oxychloride (689.5 g/kg) and cymoxanil (42 g/kg). Inorganic copper compounds remain on the surface of the plant and prevent infection by harmful microorganisms. Copper oxychloride provides prevention of not only fungal, but also bacterial diseases.

    Cymoxanil has a therapeutic effect. The substance spreads throughout the plant tissues and encapsulates pathogen-infected cells, preventing the development of the fungus.

    Composition and mechanism of action

    The substance cymoxanil has a destructive effect on pathogens, blocking the motility of zoopores and the sporulation of fungal microorganisms. In addition to it, the composition of the drug includes:

    • mancozeb (contact compound);
    • copper oxychloride.

    Depending on the type of the second component, fungicides of various markings are produced (Kurzat M or P). The effectiveness of the product is explained by the presence of two main components in the composition, as a result of which Kurzat is classified as a group of complex fungicides.

    Cymoxanil is characterized by high translaminar activity, quickly penetrates plant tissue, and is redistributed in shoots from bottom to top. It is capable of stopping the development of infection by encapsulating the affected areas.

    Consumption rate per 10 liters of water

    The prepared 10 liters of working fluid is enough to treat an area of 100 - 200 m2.

    Consumption of the drug per 10 liters of water:

    CultureAmount of powder for preparing the working solution, g
    Potato50
    Open ground tomato50
    Open ground cucumber25 — 30
    Grape25 — 30
    Onion (except feather bow)50 — 60

    How to prepare a working solution

    Carrying out all activities with Kurzat begins with studying the instructions for use. Where there are all the instructions on how to dissolve, what rate of application is suitable for the crop being treated.

    The next stage is preparing the dilution container: the tanks, spray bottle or other spraying equipment are washed and cleaned.

    The working solution should be prepared immediately before use, as it cannot be stored. The fungicide dilution scheme is standard:

    • calculate the dosage of powder or granules;
    • dilute until completely dissolved in a small amount of water;
    • add the required amount of liquid and begin processing.

    Instructions for use

    The pesticide can be used at agricultural enterprises and on personal garden plots in compliance with all the requirements of the instructions.

    When preparing the solution, the liquid must be thoroughly mixed and ensure that the drug powder does not settle to the bottom during processing. It is advisable to use soft water without impurities.

    On potatoes

    On potatoes, the drug is used for the prevention and control of late blight. It is advisable to start spraying before the first symptoms of the disease appear, then the effectiveness of the drug will be higher.

    During the growing season, treatments are carried out three times with a consumption of the finished solution of 5 liters per 1 hundred square meters. The period between treatments is 10-12 days.

    On cucumbers

    The pesticide is used in open ground cucumber plantings to protect against downy mildew. The effect of the drug will be noticeable after treating 1 hundred square meters of 10 liters of working solution three times at intervals of 10-12 days.

    It is important to carry out the first spraying as early as possible. In temperate climates, downy mildew usually affects cucumbers grown outside greenhouses by the end of July - the first preventive treatment must be carried out before the disease appears.

    On the grapes

    On grapes, a fungicide is used against mildew. During the growing season, 3-4 treatments are carried out, depending on the degree of spread of the disease, with a consumption of the finished solution of 10 liters per 1 hundred square meters. There should be 10 to 12 days between treatments.

    There are grape varieties that are sensitive to copper. Before using a copper-containing fungicide, it must be tested in advance so as not to harm the plants.

    On tomatoes

    The drug is suitable for treating tomato late blight only in open ground. Two treatments per season with an interval of 10-12 days are sufficient. Spraying 1 acre will require 5 liters of prepared solution.

    Pros and cons of the drug

    Fungicides do not have exclusively positive qualities. Although there are more of them than minuses. Chemical reactions can harm one plant and help another. Hence the need to use it exclusively for its intended purpose, with an accurate dose calculation, for approved crops.

    Kurzat defeats pathogenic interference by developing plant immunity. So active struggle leads to the following positive aspects:

    1. Approved for use during the flowering period. Since it does not pose a threat to honey plants and animals.
    2. Feeding with Kurzat gives a long-lasting effect (protection for 30 days).
    3. Has fast action. The first results of application are noticeable 20-24 hours after application.
    4. Strengthens the functioning of the immune system at the sprout stage. This is a significant positive point, since a young plant is most susceptible to infection. A strengthened immune system promotes rapid development and growth.
    5. No addiction of pathogenic microorganisms and fungal spores to Kurzat is observed. This allows for reusable use.
    6. It cannot be said that immunity will overcome all diseases without exception, but the resistance will be significantly increased, which will enable the farmer to select the necessary fungicide to eliminate the problem.

    There are also disadvantages. And the first reason why Kurzat is abandoned: the need for frequent use in large quantities.

    In addition, paper packaging is not as durable and requires additional effort to ensure safety. Moisture coming into contact with the powder renders it unusable.

    Waiting period

    The period required for the amount of pesticide in fruits and vegetables to decrease to a level safe for human health is called the waiting period.

    Length of period from last fungicide spray until harvest:

    CultureAmount of days
    Potato20
    Open ground cucumber5
    Open ground tomato4
    Grape28
    Onion (except feather bow)21

    Compatible with fertilizers and other pesticides

    It is successfully combined with many fertilizers and plant protection products, provided that their acid-base balance corresponds to a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. Kurzan is not compatible with alkaline substances.

    If it is planned to use it in tank mixtures, then the appropriate test mixing is carried out first:

    • A small amount of each test drug is dissolved in a separate container;
    • Then, pour into a common container one by one with constant stirring.
    • The solution is left for 2 – 32 hours and its condition is monitored. If no sediment or flakes appear, the mixture is considered compatible. But the final result can only be determined by the results of application, when the expected changes are visible on the plants.

    Hazard class and safety measures for use

    Kurzat R, SP is a moderately dangerous substance for humans. When preparing the solution and carrying out the treatments, it is necessary to use personal protective equipment: wear rubber gloves to protect the skin of your hands, a respirator, goggles, and change into work clothes.

    Inorganic copper compounds can cause poisoning in humans, therefore:

    • if the drug gets on the skin or eyes, they must be immediately rinsed with plenty of water;
    • if it gets into the mouth or is swallowed, rinse the mouth with water, induce vomiting and take activated charcoal;
    • If you inhale the powder, you should immediately go to fresh air.

    In case of poisoning with a copper-containing pesticide, you must immediately call an ambulance and receive qualified treatment.

    Work on fungicide-treated plantings is allowed three days after spraying.

    In what form is it produced?

    There are two types of the drug on sale: Kurzat R and Kurzat M. The differences between them are the composition. So in Kurzat M the active ingredients are mancozeb and cymoxanil. Appearance: granular product for dilution in water.

    Thanks to Mancozeb, the drug acts a little differently, as it has a versatile effect. The primary task of species M is to disrupt the synthesis processes of pathogenic microorganisms. It is more used for the treatment and prevention of mildew, as an anti-resistant program.

    Kurzat M also contains manganese. Its main task is to increase the synthesis and content of chlorophyll. With a lack of manganese, the plant begins to suffer from chlorosis, which leads to the gradual death of the green part of the crop, the root system.

    This disease is often found in potatoes and tomatoes. Therefore, Kurzat M is recommended for processing these types of vegetables.
