Options on dwarf and semi-dwarf rootstocks
Specialists from the Research Institute for Breeding Fruit Crops conducted experiments on growing Apple Spas on dwarf and semi-dwarf rootstocks.
The variety showed better results compared to other triploid summer apple trees. Prototypes:
- Formed a good root system,
- They bravely endured frosty winters with little snow.
- The height of the trees is significantly lower than that characteristic of the variety. This simplifies plant care and harvesting.
- The first fruits were obtained later, and in scarcer quantities than in the tall form. But already, after three years, breeders recorded a yield of more than 60 centners per hectare.
Advice! Growing an apple tree on a dwarf rootstock allows you to place a larger number of plants on the site, increase productivity and provide high-quality care for the entire crown.

Recommendations for cultivation
These tomatoes can be grown in any region of the Russian Federation. Light, fertile soils are best suited for growing these tomatoes. These tomatoes are grown in seedlings. Seeds for seedlings are planted in late March or early April. When planting, they go deep into the ground by 2-3 centimeters.
Before planting, the seeds should be treated with a solution of potassium permanganate and then washed with clean water. During the entire growth period, seedlings should be fed with complex fertilizer two or three times. When one or two full leaves appear, the seedlings must be pruned.
A week before planting in the ground, you need to start hardening off the seedlings. Seedlings are planted in the ground at the age of 55-70 days. When planting, the distance between seedlings should be at least 70 centimeters, and the distance between rows can be from 30 to 40 centimeters.
There are a huge number of ways to grow tomato seedlings. We bring to your attention a series of articles on how to do this:
- in twists;
- in two roots;
- in peat tablets;
- without picking;
- using Chinese technology;
- in bottles;
- in peat pots;
- without land.
Plants need staking and formation into one stem . Do not forget to regularly water the tomatoes with warm water and enrich the soil with complex mineral fertilizer.
Bush care
Mulching
Mulched soil retains moisture well and prevents weeds.
Garter
Since the plant is tall, it is advisable to use a trellis.
Formation
They form a bush into two stems, cutting off all the stepsons that take up a fairly large amount of nutrients. Only the central stem and one additional shoot under the first brush are left. Stepsons are planted weekly, and all lower and excess leaves are removed. In addition, it is necessary to trim the foliage lying on the inflorescences of neighboring bushes. The procedures are carried out in the early morning hours in sunny weather.
Watering
Watering is carried out abundantly, but not frequently. You should try to get warm water only under the root. Moisture that gets on the foliage and stem can cause various fungal diseases. When using mulch, watering is carried out once a week, without mulch the frequency is 2-3 times a week.
