Rules for caring for tomatoes

Watering

Tomatoes do not like heavy watering, so this process must be coupled with the existing weather conditions. For example, during dry periods, watering can be increased, but it should be carried out exclusively in the evening and using warm water. You need to irrigate the entire garden bed with water, while protecting the tomato leaves themselves.

Feeding

Despite the fact that tomatoes are planted in fertile soil, a number of seasonal feedings are still necessary for tomatoes in the future. In the first month - after planting the crop in the ground, and after that - several more times during the season.

At the beginning of the summer season, any fertilizers can be used, but in July, nitrogenous components should be eliminated, and the plants should be fed with superphosphates and wood ash.

Garter

The garter must be carried out during the flowering period of the bushes, while forming the plant into one or two stems. The remaining weak stepsons must be removed in a timely manner, especially in the lower part of the plant. During the fruiting period, the leaves of tomato bushes should also be partially removed.

Diseases and pests

Due to Novichok’s resistance to certain diseases and pests, the bushes of this type of tomato are not often treated. But as a preventive measure against fungal infections, use a spray solution prepared from water (10 liters) with Trichopolum tablets dissolved in it (5-6 pieces) and a small part of milk.

If there are visible signs of late blight, the crop is treated using a special product - Tattu.

And in case of pest invasion, they use proven folk remedies, without pesticides:

  1. The mole cricket is destroyed by sprinkling the soil with dried marigolds.
  2. For attacks by ticks and aphids, use powdered tobacco, chamomile, and garlic.
  3. Cutworms and slugs are destroyed with capsicum and wild garlic.
  4. Colorado beetles are repelled by a bed of parsley or dill planted nearby.

The fruits ripen early, reaching technical ripeness after 100-103 days. On heavily leafy bushes, several clusters of 3-5 tomatoes each are formed. The plants are powerful, strong, although not particularly tall (up to 1.3 meters). The root system is well developed, the leaf blades are medium sized and bright green in color.

It is recommended to grow plants in 1-2 trunks, cutting off excess leaves and removing stepsons in a timely manner.

Belongs to the indeterminate group, requires increased nutrition and timely watering. The fruits are smooth, beautiful, rich pink in color. There are no stripes or spots. By weight - 250-290 grams.

The pulp is very juicy, fleshy and dense. Inside there are 3-4 chambers, few seeds. Therefore, the fruits are used to prepare salads, pasta, ketchup, sauces, and soups. It must be taken into account that during processing the tomato mass is not bright red, but pinkish in color.

Sugar content is about 3%. The taste depends on the correct agricultural technology, regularity of fertilizing and watering.

Suitable for short-term storage and transportation. In boxes and boxes they keep their shape and retain their presentation.

Description of the variety

The Wild Rose variety is distinguished by its tall growth; the bush can grow large, its size is not limited. Grows well in greenhouses or in warm climates. In practice, it has been proven that it can produce a good harvest in regions with less favorable thermal conditions.

Bushes

The bushes grow well in height, the average height is 170-250 centimeters. The bushes are spreading and produce many leaves, so they need to be pruned frequently.

Fruit

The fruits have the following properties:

  • round tomatoes, slightly flattened, large in size, ripe, pink in color;
  • the growth point is not limited;
  • the first fruits appear above the 9th leaf;
  • are distinguished by early ripening, the first fruits appear after 3 months;
  • 2-9 tomatoes can grow on each cluster;
  • the yield per square meter is 6-7 kilograms;
  • have a sweet taste with a slight sourness;
  • one tomato weighs about 300 grams; the largest tomatoes are collected from the bottom of the bushes.

Where is it used?

The variety has a sweet, pleasant taste, and since it is considered early, it is eaten fresh and added to salads. You can make sauces from the fruits. Preservation is not possible due to the thin skin of the tomatoes.

The tomato is officially included in the public register and has a registration number. This crop is suitable for anyone to grow both in personal plots and in industrial facilities. Tolerates open ground very well. It can grow in greenhouse shelters. Greenhouses are especially useful in cold regions. The crop ripens after 110 – 115 days after germination. The stem stretches up to one and a half to two meters during growth. It is necessary to tie the plant to slats or pegs. Thus, the stem is fixed shorter. The harvest will not end up on the ground, the unprofitable stem will be broken. The leaves of the plant are quite large and have a dark-dark green color. The first inflorescence appears on the eighth leaf. And subsequent brushes appear bypassing every three sheets. 3–4 large tomatoes are formed on the inflorescence. The shape of the fruit is round, slightly flattened. Far from pronounced ribs run along the entire circumference. The color of the tomato is pink on the outside and more whitish on the inside. The fruit is quite fleshy, consists of 4 sections with seeds. The weight of each fruit is on average 250 – 300 grams.

When growing ass in a regular film-type greenhouse, it is not a sin to collect from 9 to 12 kilograms from one square meter per season. In open ground in a favorable region, in addition to using greenhouses and films, you can collect from 8 to 9 kilograms of ripe vegetables.

“Dessert pink” will perform well and grow in warm regions and in the middle zone. Heated greenhouses are needed in moderately cold places - Siberia and the Far North. However, according to many farmers, tomatoes can be grown in these areas using conventional film greenhouses, bypassing the use of heating.

Features of cultivation

It is important to purchase seeds in specialized stores and departments. Then germination and belonging to the variety will be guaranteed

Unfortunately, you cannot buy super elite anywhere. Most distributors may sell crappy product. Storage conditions may also not meet standards and requirements. Due to this, when purchasing seeds from your hands, you can end up with just garbage.

Before planting, all seeds are soaked in a weak solution of manganese for 10 - 15 minutes.

Seeding and planting

Before sowing, it is necessary to make holes or depressions in the ground. Sprinkle everything with warm water and place the seeds at a distance of 2 - 3 centimeters from each other, if they are distributed into common containers. It should be buried at least one and a half centimeters. After some time, sprinkle everything with earth and cover with polyethylene. After pecking the seeds, the containers are moved past the shelter onto the windowsill and additional lighting is turned on.

Before transplanting into open ground, tomatoes are hardened. Within two weeks, the plants are exposed to the street or a window is opened. Thus, the culture gets used to the transplant.

Before planting, fertilizers are applied to the soil. In addition to peat, manure and ash, add granular superphosphate and potassium sulfate fertilizer to each hole.

Care

This variety should be watered when it is clear that the bottom is dry. Frequent watering is not needed. When bushes grow, it is important to remove the lower old leaves, hilling the base of the stem. Weeds should be destroyed and the soil mulched. Applying fertilizers will add strength to the plant and help it form better ovaries for fruit ripening.

To protect the crop from diseases, it is necessary to spray the foliage in a timely manner. This will protect the plant from the appearance of late blight and other diseases, as well as the invasion of insects and slugs.

The “Dessert Pink” class is very fruitful and tasty. Most agronomists are happy to grow it on their own plots and in professional greenhouses.

pink pear tomato - description and characteristics of the variety

Characteristics of the variety

Tomatoes of the Pink Souvenir variety are among the first to ripen: often only 80 days from the appearance of the first shoots is enough. Their taste is characterized by honey and is rated “excellent”. The seed content is low. The yield is also not bad, considering the small size of the plant: it can reach 10 kg/m2. Therefore, especially considering the rapid ripening of the harvest, something has to be done with its excess. Delicious tomatoes are suitable for any type of processing; you can also roll them into jars.

The seed producer and many gardeners especially emphasize the variety's ability to set fruit at very high temperatures (above 30 ° C), when the pollen of many other tomatoes becomes sterile. The bushes normally tolerate extreme heat even in the fruit-filling stage. The Pink Souvenir also tolerates short-term severe cold spells, unless, of course, the air temperature drops below 0 °C. The thick skin allows the fruit to withstand transportation well. Comparing this variety with many others (and now the vast majority of tomatoes are salad tomatoes), one cannot, of course, consider it the best, but it is worth putting it at the top of the rating. The pink souvenir has the following advantages:

  • high, for a determinate variety, yield;
  • excellent tomato taste;
  • good presentation of the fruit;
  • versatility of use;
  • lack of tendency for tomatoes to crack;
  • highest heat resistance;
  • transportability and long-term preservation of fruits.

Information about the relationship of the variety to diseases is ambiguous. There is not a word about this in the State Register, although data on this is provided for almost any variety. From the reviews of vegetable growers who planted this variety, it can be assumed that in rainy weather fungal diseases can threaten this tomato, so in cold regions it is better not to neglect preventive spraying.

Among the many rose-fruited varieties, Pink Souvenir occupies its rightful niche. It so happens that many excellent varieties with pink tomatoes do not have a round fruit shape, and their size, most often, is much higher than average. About half of them taste great, about half are determinate. There are very few varieties with small spherical fruits. This is, for example, the Pink Miracle, the characteristics of which are similar to those of the variety in question, but the yield is lower. The situation is similar with the Pink Morning variety, but its fruits are significantly larger. The main difference between the Pink Souvenir and most other varieties is its high heat resistance, which makes it desirable among gardeners living in the very south of the country.

The Pink Miracle tomato resembles a Pink souvenir, and bears fruit even earlier

Priming

Bushes that do not stretch uncontrollably upward, but are capable of timely self-restraint, are very convenient to grow. At the same time, its respectable height determines excellent productivity indicators. Its versatility is also attractive: it can be planted anywhere. True, in open ground you will need supports, but not very high ones.

Semi-determinate varieties, as a rule, are not too late, usually mid-early or mid-ripening. But you still need to step them up. In the open air, some varieties may require topping towards the end of the season (on average - early August). The standard height is from one to 1.5 (and a little higher) meters (this is observed in a greenhouse).

Tomato Eagle beak

Large, fast, productive

A wonderful variety in all respects. Created by the work of a team of famous Siberian breeders (V.N. Dederko, T.N. Postnikova, A.A. Yabrov). The variety has a state patent and has been listed in the register since 2005. Medium early in terms of ripening. The plant develops at a rapid pace: seedlings produce real leaves early and quickly grow ovaries.

Tomato Southern tan

Similar to the Golden Koenigsberg (of the same authors), which does not have a patent and is not included in the register. The powerful bush of the plant requires obligatory pinching. The harvest is high, 7.7 kg per bush was collected. Tomatoes are oval with a spout, smooth, weighing 150-170 g;

The watermelon pulp is sugary. The weight of tomatoes is from 290 to 560 grams and even more. The variety of these vegetables was included in the register in 2007. The bush is about 1.5 meters high, the leaves are large, dark green. The inflorescence is simple. It requires tying the plant to a support and pinching. There are from 3 to 4 tomatoes in a bunch - round, slightly ribbed, deep orange, weighing 230-360 g. The pulp is juicy. The taste has an aromatic sourness. The main value of the variety is the highest content of carotenoid vitamins. Vegetable yields are moderate.

Tomato Bull's forehead

Large and unpretentious

The variety adapts perfectly to greenhouse heat and street cold. Brings a decent harvest even when the year is unfavorable for growing - up to two buckets from 1 square. Tomatoes are round, slightly flattened, ribbed. Weight 0.5 kg or more. The pulp is dense. The ripening period is average; In open ground, about half of the fruits ripen.

It has a rare quality for a meaty variety - it is resistant to cracking. From 1 square meter you can collect up to 1.5 buckets of fruit. Orange tomatoes contain much more beta-carotene than other groups of varieties of different colors. Therefore, these tomatoes are extremely popular among gardeners. The Orange Giant tomato is famous for its high yield and excellent taste.

The fruits are elongated, heart-shaped, raspberry-pink, with a moiré tint, weighing 400-700 g.

Tomato Superbomb

The promise of record harvests

The mid-season new product promises a decent yield in open ground. The innovative Superbomb tomato is successfully grown in various regions of the country. It is not afraid of intense heat, scorching sun, and dry air. Fruit set remains consistently at a high level. The Superbomb tomato needs increased nutrition and moderate pruning. There are 5-6 tomatoes in a bunch, weighing 300-600 g. They are fleshy, rounded and flattened. The plant is compact, with self-limiting growth.

Tomato Puzata Khata

Unique shape

An original new variety from agro, on the state register since 2013. For lovers of unusual tomatoes. The variety is early (105 days is not uncommon), with extended yield and a total yield of 9.6 kg per 1 square. Tomatoes have an interesting pear shape with pronounced ribs. Fruit weight 185-270 g. The ripening period is mid-early or mid-ripening (112-123 days). Fruit weight 235-280 g. They are flat-round, slightly ribbed, light green with the lower part turning yellow when ripe.

When fully ripe, the vegetables are golden-greenish, with a slight bronze tint. The pulp is juicy, dietary taste with low acidity. The yield from 1 plant in open ground reaches 5.6 kg per square; in a greenhouse - a maximum of one and a half times higher. The purpose is salad. The green color of ripe tomatoes is due to the fact that tomatoes have a high chlorophyll content.

Pre-prepare containers with soil. These can be boxes, pots or pallets. You can immediately use glasses or small pots to place 1 - 2 seeds in them, so as not to carry out picking later. The soil should be specifically for vegetable crops and contain a mineral complex of basic fertilizers.

Advantages and disadvantages

Hybrid Donna Anna has a whole list of positive qualities:

  • excellent yield;
  • large fruit;
  • balanced, rich taste;
  • not prone to cracking;
  • resistance to stressful conditions.

The disadvantages include the fact that the shoots on which the brush is tied are quite fragile. This often leads to their breaking off under a heavy load of fruit. This feature of the variety must be taken into account when forming. By using additional fixation, you can prevent the tomato brushes from breaking.

Vegetable crops require regular fertilizing, and ripe fruits are not stored fresh for long.

Some vegetable growers complain about the lack of a characteristic “spout” on tomatoes. Photos published on seed packets mislead people. The hybrid was declared at registration as round. However, some fruits do have a slight protrusion.

Using the Pink Spam variety

The tomato, reviews (photos in the text) of which gardeners are unanimous about, is excellent for fresh consumption. The juicy sweet pulp and thin peel are ideal for summer salads. One good tomato is enough to prepare a decent portion. They go well with cheese, olives, fresh bread, garlic, seafood, and onions. A tasty, healthy juice rich in nutrients is obtained from these fruits.

The Pink Spam tomato has fairly large fruits. They can be used for winter preservation. You just have to try and pick tomatoes that can fit into the jar

A tasty and very healthy pink vegetable enjoys well-deserved attention from amateur gardeners.

How to deal with stress in plants

Unsuitable weather conditions and improper care of tomatoes can cause stress in the plants. To prevent this, treat young bushes with Narcissus-S every 20-30 days, and for adult plants use Ecogel in combination with other products.

So, to prevent root rot and improve flowering, combine Ecogel and Previkur; to destroy whiteflies in a greenhouse, use Ecogel together with Fitoferm. And the combination of Ecogel and Zircon will help accelerate the growth of tomatoes and the ripening of fruits.

To prevent diseases, do not forget to use biological drugs (Gamair, Glyokladin). Then your pink tomatoes will grow beautiful, tasty and juicy.

Description of the variety, characteristics and features of growing tomato Pink Heart

Tomato Pink Heart is one of the subspecies of Ox Heart. But its difference is in the pink fruits. “Pink Heart” was released in Russia in 2002. The variety was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2003. Originator of the variety: agrofirm Poisk.

Recommended growing areas

Planting seedlings has its own characteristics. In the southern regions of Russia it is better to plant seedlings in open ground; in the Central region they are planted under film. In the north they are placed exclusively in heated greenhouses.

What do bushes and fruits look like?

The botanical description of the variety is mid-early, since after planting the seedlings in the ground, 100–105 days pass before the tomatoes are harvested.

The characteristics of the bushes are indeterminate, that is, their stems can grow unlimitedly after setting tomatoes, so they need to be tied up and pinched, and also standard.

The physical characteristics of the variety are bushes 1.6 - 1.8 m in height, in the south of Russia they can grow up to 2 m. Large dark green leaves grow on the bushes.

The tomato is heart-shaped and pink in color. According to the description, the first fruits, like other types of Ox heart, have a mass of 400 - 450 g, and the next pink fruits when ripened are much smaller - 250 - 300 g.

The tomato contains 5 - 6% dry matter, the fruit itself is fleshy, has medium density, very sweet, and does not crack.

The beneficial properties of the fruits are that they contain vitamins B1, B6, C (strengthens the immune system), since they contain more sugar than red vegetables, they can be eaten even by those who have diseases of the stomach and intestines.

Method of use

The tomatoes are very large in size, so they simply will not fit entirely into the jar when canning - this distinguishes the Ox Heart species from other varieties. They are salted in barrels. Since tomatoes have a wonderful dessert taste, they are eaten fresh. The sweet taste makes excellent juices and purees.

From a bush you can collect 2.5 - 3 kg. 2–3 bushes are planted per 1 m2 of area. From 1 m they collect up to 9 kg. This is a small yield for such large fruits.

How to plant

Seeds are sown in boxes in March. The soil should be compacted slightly before planting. After scattering on the soil, the seeds are sprinkled with a 1 cm layer of chernozem and peat, then watered with warm water and covered with film. The boxes are placed in a room with an air temperature of +25°C.

When you see the first shoots, remove the film and expose the seedlings to the light. The first week the temperature should be +15 – 16 °C, and later it can be 20 – 25 °C. They dive, that is, seedlings are planted when 2 true leaves grow.

Nuances of agricultural technology

Plant seedlings in open ground or a greenhouse after 60 - 65 days. The seedlings should already have 6–7 true leaves and one flower cluster. Select soil that is fertile, light, and rich in nutrients. Feed the bushes with organic and mineral fertilizers approximately every 2 weeks.

In addition, water them, remove shoots in a timely manner and pull out weeds. Spray the bushes with special preparations to protect against harmful insects and diseases.

The bushes are very tall, so tie them up. Place supports under the branches to prevent the plants from breaking under the weight of the pink fruits. It is best to leave 1 or 2 stems when forming, and remove the remaining stepsons.

Tomatoes have good immunity to fungal diseases. But brown rot may appear on tomatoes. It is necessary to eliminate diseased fruits and stop adding nitrogen, and spray the bushes with the preparation “Hom”.

If the bushes are attacked by slugs, then you need to cut off the tops and scatter the ash on the ground.

This tomato variety produces large, pink-colored fruits and is quite demanding when it comes to watering and fertilizing, so it is best grown by experienced gardeners.

Recommendations for cultivation

The variety is not unpretentious in cultivation. The preferred method of planting is seedlings. Preparation of seedlings includes:

  • Sowing seeds to a depth of 1.5–2 centimeters.
  • Purchasing separate containers for each individual seedling.
  • Maintaining room temperature from 21 degrees.
  • Lighting seedlings, bushes should spend time in sunlight for at least 16 hours.
  • Watering.
  • Hardening off seedlings a week before planting.

Seedlings should not be planted too densely, no more than 2-3 bushes per square meter. Further agricultural technology consists of timely watering, fertilizing, mandatory removal of weeds and loosening. A tall bush requires tying to a trellis, and is formed into 2-3 trunks for better yield.

Characteristics of tomato Titan

The attractive characteristics of the Titan tomato are productivity and high quality fruits. In cold climates, fruiting dates shift. There is also a high risk of developing fungal diseases.

Productivity and fruiting

Titan tomatoes are harvested in July-August. Each bush brings 3.7-4.5 kg. When grown on an industrial scale from 1 sq. m, about 8 kg of fruits are removed. In the southern regions, the variety is planted in open areas. In colder climates, tomatoes are grown in greenhouses or greenhouses.

The yield of the Titan variety is positively affected by care: loosening the soil and applying complex fertilizers. Tomatoes react sharply to changing weather conditions. The optimal temperature regime is +18-25 °C. When the temperature drops to + 15 °C, the formation of ovaries stops, and at + 10 °C the growth of bushes stops.

Area of application of fruits

The fruits of the Titan variety have a salad purpose. They are used to prepare appetizers, sauces, pastas, first and second courses. Tomatoes are suitable for whole-fruit canning and homemade preparations. They are also processed into tomato-containing products.

Resistance to diseases and pests

Titan tomatoes have average resistance to diseases and pests. The variety is susceptible to fungal infections: macrosporiosis, late blight, stolbur. The risk of developing diseases increases in cold and rainy weather. Plantings are regularly sprayed for preventive purposes.

Review of sweet and fruitful varieties of pink tomatoes

Varieties of tomatoes with pink flesh are no less popular than red tomatoes. Most varieties are characterized by a dessert-sweet taste and high yield. Mostly large-fruited tomatoes require increased attention from gardeners, but the result of competent agricultural technology more than pays for the time and effort spent.

Features of growing pink tomatoes

In order for the tomato harvest to meet the characteristics declared by the manufacturer, it is necessary to provide the crop with optimal conditions. Pink tomatoes are quite demanding on agricultural technology. Sweet taste and abundant fruiting are achieved through proper care, which includes timely feeding, proper watering regimen and protection from diseases and pests. It is recommended to adhere to the following rules for growing pink varieties:

  • disinfect and harden seeds before planting;
  • feed tomatoes during seedling growth, after transplanting into the ground and during fruit ripening;
  • Before planting in the beds, take care of the support to which it is necessary to tie large-fruited tall bushes;
  • organize proper watering in the morning, avoiding drought, which leads to cracking of the skin;
  • water only with water heated in the sun to avoid fungal diseases;
  • If possible, protect the beds from sudden temperature fluctuations.
