Instructions for use of "Ridomila Gold" for processing grapes, dosage and waiting period

Description of the drug "Ridomil Gold"

Before using any chemical against crop diseases or pests, you should study the description of the drug and the nuances of its use. As a rule, most fungicides are toxic substances, so they should be used with extreme caution.

Compound

The composition of the drug "Ridomil Gold" includes the following substances:

  • mefenoxam (composed of 40 g per 1 kg);
  • mancozeb (640 g per 1 kg).

These substances are aimed at destroying diseases of grape bushes. But they are also toxic, and if Ridomil Gold is used incorrectly, the substance can harm the human body.

Release form

The drug is available in cardboard boxes of 1 kg or 5 kg. Ridomil Gold can be stored for no more than 3 years. The drug is available in powder form or water-dispersible granules.

Action and direction of the drug

The chemical agent "Ridomil Gold" is aimed at destroying fungal diseases, for example, late blight, alternaria and other diseases. It is also used for mildew in grapes.

The substances that make up Ridomil Gold penetrate plant tissue, thereby providing them with complete protection from fungal diseases.

Precautionary measures

When storing the drug, it is important to follow the usual safety precautions: the product can only be stored out of the reach of children, animals and away from food supplies. Considering that mefenoxam easily penetrates the human body. It is important not to neglect protection: you need to work in a special respirator and clothing.

Ridomil Gold is a fairly expensive device, so it is recommended that in the event of a sudden outbreak of a fungal disease over a large area, call a specialist to treat the vineyard. Fungi of any kind are contagious and quickly attack surrounding plants.

For what grape diseases is it used?

The chemical "Ridomil Gold" is used for mildew and oidium; it is also used to treat fungal diseases in grapes.

Mildew

The first sign of mildew in grapes is the appearance of light spots on the leaves. Then a white coating appears on the bottom of the leaf. Inflorescences and young ovaries dry out and fall off.

Ridomil Gold is used to treat grapes. It is used as a prophylactic. The vine is sprayed in dry, windless weather. If the vines are severely damaged, the bushes are treated with curative fungicides, and after 10 days, Ridomil Gold is used.

Oidium

Powdery mildew or powdery mildew often affects grape bushes. In the spring, you can notice growths on the grapes that are stunted in growth, unlike other parts of the bush. Curled leaves with a white coating appear on them.

To prevent powdery mildew, bushes are treated with Ridomil Gold. The fungicide is aimed at combating fungi. The vine is sprayed in dry weather. After 14 days, spraying is repeated. If necessary, the drug is combined with other chemicals.

Disadvantages of this drug.

When preparing the solution, it is very important to follow the dosage of the drugs. Even taking into account the fact that this drug has a low level of toxicity, it can still pose a danger. Also, it cannot be used for absolutely all crops; in some plants it can burn the root system.

Also, after opening the package, you need to use the entire drug at once. If you don't use it right away, it will lose its effects. If you need less of the drug than is contained in the package, then you will have to throw away the rest. That is, this drug is not economical.

Instructions for use

To successfully eliminate diseases on grapes, before using a fungicide, study the instructions and act only according to them.

Spraying for prevention

The fungicide is used as a preventative against grape diseases. The bushes are sprayed at the first suspicion of the appearance of fungi. Spraying continues until there is 100% confidence that the threat of disease has passed.

The first preventive treatment is carried out until more than 4 leaves appear on the plant. Spray the second time two weeks after the first treatment. The grapes are then processed two more times at intervals of two weeks.

Processing grapes

After the first signs of grape infection appear, the vine is treated with fungicides according to a certain scheme. Preventive treatment of grapes is carried out several times per season. The most optimal time for spraying is considered to be early spring.

Before flowering

Before flowering, grape bushes are sprayed 3-5 days before the inflorescences bloom. After the grapes have bloomed, they cannot be sprayed with chemicals. After the first spraying, you need to wait 14 days and re-treat the grape bushes.

During the ripening period of berries

During the period of ripening of berries, grape bushes are sprayed in extreme cases, if the disease has spread greatly and it is not possible to cope with it in other ways. Due to the high toxicity of Ridomila Gold, after spraying bushes with already ripe berries, you should not eat them for as long as possible.

Seasonal use

If signs of powdery mildew or another disease appear during the fruiting season and pose a threat to the plant and future harvest, immediate action should be taken. These include treating bushes with the chemical Ridomil Gold. It is better to use a less toxic product, but if nothing else is available, the bushes are treated with this fungicide. 1 sachet is diluted in 10 liters of water.

After 14 days, the procedure is repeated. This is enough to cope with grapevine disease.

Other cases and conditions

But besides powdery mildew and mildew, the drug is also used to treat other grape diseases. "Ridomil Gold" is used for almost all diseases of vegetable and fruit crops. These include late blight, alternaria, peronospora and all types of fungal diseases. The dosage for all types of diseases is almost the same.

Waiting period for results

Grape bushes are sprayed every two weeks. The results from using Ridomil Gold should be expected no earlier than 21 days after the first spraying.

The last time preventative spraying against powdery mildew and mildew is carried out before the flowering period.

Tips from experienced gardeners.

  • For preventive purposes, grapes can be processed at the very peak of the growing season.
  • Granules can be stored at low temperatures, but you still need to pay attention to the storage instructions on the packaging.
  • The drug should not be stored outdoors. Ridomil Gold should be stored in a dry and warm room with good circulation of fresh air. You can put it in an outbuilding or a barn.
  • It is better not to store this product at home. Because it poses a danger to people and animals. Or put it in a place where small children and animals cannot reach it.

Positive and negative sides

The advantages of the fungicide include:

  • Acts as an effective prophylactic agent.
  • Helps cope with grape diseases in a short time.
  • Helps increase plant immunity for up to 16 days.
  • Does not harm grape tissue.
  • It is impossible to accidentally inhale the granules due to their size.
  • Granules and powder dissolve quickly in water.

The disadvantages of using the chemical include the following factors:

  • It is an environmentally hazardous drug and has a toxic effect on humans, animals and fish.
  • Some gardeners are ineffective in combating powdery mildew.
  • Requires high consumption compared to similar products.
  • The protective film is quickly washed off after spraying, and the bushes have to be treated again.

Among similar products for grape bushes, there are more effective and safer for humans and the environment.

Useful tips

For preventive purposes, the grapevine should be treated during the period of active growth.

  • As described earlier, granules are not afraid of low temperatures, but some storage conditions must still be observed .
  • Under no circumstances should packages be stored outdoors . It is recommended to select a storage location in a dry, well-ventilated area. A well-protected garden shed or temporary shed will do.
  • It is not recommended to store packages in a residential area, since the product is dangerous for humans and animals . Therefore, it is worth hiding the drug in such a way as to eliminate the possibility of access by animals.

Compatibility

Ridomil in tank solution is compatible with most pesticides. But due to the complex composition of the drug, the manufacturer does not provide a list of products compatible with it, especially since the range of pesticides on sale is changing. For the same reason (complex composition), checking the compatibility of Ridomil using improvised means at home does not always give an unambiguous result. If compatibility is precisely established (for example, through consultations on the company website or with a specialist), then the dissolution of the substances in the tank (see below) must be carried out as follows. order: water-soluble agents (VRK, VRP, VRG) > SP (wettable powder) > RIDOMIL GOLD MC, VDG > KS (concentrated suspension; sometimes designated SK on foreign products) > EC.

Note: VRK – water-soluble concentrate; WRP – water-soluble powder; WRG – water-soluble granules; VDG – water-dispersed granules; CE – concentrated emulsion.

How to fight the disease

Most winegrowers do not know what measures to take to get rid of mildew disease of grapes and how to treat it. Today there are two methods of struggle:

  • Using drugs based on chemicals;
  • Folk remedies.

Chemicals

First of all, gardeners use copper sulfate to take measures to combat mildew on grapes. Spray the leaves with a weak solution; to treat the trunk and branches, use a stronger solution.

Important! If you constantly treat a plant with the same product, the fungal spores adapt to it, and it no longer affects them. For this reason, throughout the season you need to use different preparations for mildew and oidium on grapes.

Bordeaux mixture. This drug is used to spray the entire bush. To prepare it, you need to take one hundred and twenty grams of lime, one hundred grams of copper sulfate and dilute it all in ten liters of water. In this case, you will get a one percent solution. In order to prepare a three percent liquid, the amount of ingredients is tripled. You can check whether the mixture is prepared correctly using a nail. A change in the color of the nail indicates that either water or lime needs to be added to the mixture.

Burgundy liquid. To prepare it you will need to take four hundred grams of copper sulfate, three hundred and fifty grams of soda ash and twenty liters of water. To check the quality of the solution preparation, litmus paper is used.

Copper oxychloride. For it, you need to buy a special powder in the store, dilute it in a ratio of fifty grams per ten liters of water.

Copper silicate. Prepare a solution of copper sulfate and silicate glue

It is important to prepare the solution correctly; for this you need to pour silicate glue into the copper sulfate. But under no circumstances should you do it the other way around.

The result of mixing should be a dark green mixture. You can check whether the suspension is prepared correctly using paper with purgen.

Preparations that contain copper sulfate. They are excellent for treating grapevine mildew disease. These include:

  • "Tsiram";
  • "Zineb";
  • "Kaptan";
  • "Cuprozan".
  1. Preparations based on sulfur are used successfully. These include:
  • "Planriz";
  • "Alirin-b".

It is necessary to spray the plant at least five times throughout the season. This must be done, since the fungus tends to multiply quickly. The grape variety most often affected by this disease is Kishmish. For this reason, the crop needs to be processed every fourteen days to save it from dying off.

Chemicals

Folk remedies to combat mildew

You can get rid of this disease with the help of folk remedies. In this case, you can significantly save your budget. And also you will not need to follow strict rules for preparing mixtures and their methods of use. These methods are:

  1. Wood ash tincture. To prepare it you only need a kilogram of ash and ten liters of water. Keep the tincture for a week. The leaves of the plant must be processed on both sides. The drug should be used immediately, at the first signs of illness. The same solution strengthens the root system of the crop. To do this, you need to water the soil in the root zone.
  2. Potassium permanganate solution. It is diluted in the ratio of one teaspoon per ten liters of water. The leaves need to be sprayed from the inside. After this, they are sprinkled with ash.
  3. An equally effective way to combat fungal diseases is dill. It needs to be sown near the plant. It prevents disease and eliminates the need for frequent chemical treatments.

Important! Folk remedies are not the main method for treating grapes from mildew disease. Therefore, chemicals will still have to be used if the disease has spread widely.

Modern developers have released the drug Fitosporin, which contains only natural substances, such as Bacillus subtilis 26 D cells. Thanks to it, grape fruits remain environmentally friendly, despite the fact that they have been sprayed.

Fungicide Quadris

If you need a remedy to combat several fungal diseases at once, feel free to choose Quadris.
It acts against oidium, mildew, powdery mildew, gray mold and other common problems. In addition, it prolongs fruiting and even improves the presentation of the fruit. Available in easy-to-dissolve liquid form.

I recommend using it in cases where almost ripe berries are affected by fungi, that is, other means can no longer be used.

Instructions for use of Quadris

The peculiarity of Quadris is that it “uses” a completely new approach - it cuts off oxygen to spores and bacteria, after which they die. The process occurs very quickly - it takes about an hour to destroy a fungal colony, and 48 hours to completely cure the plant.

You can use the drug in combination, but I don’t see the point in this - the effectiveness of Quadris is high enough to cope with infection. Some winegrowers use it in addition to Topaz, Radomil, Actellik.

Advantages and disadvantages

  • a new principle of action on fungi;
  • high, long-term effectiveness;
  • slight toxicity;
  • increasing fertility;
  • safety for pollinating insects.
  • high price;
  • the drug is phytotoxic with a pronounced threshold effect (i.e. in case of overdose).

Expert opinion Alexey Veremeenko, historian and practitioner

“I was advised to use the fungicide Quadris to combat anthracnose. The year turned out to be rainy, and the disease affected the entire vineyard. I didn’t regret the money spent - thanks to the drug I was able to save the harvest.”

Release forms and analogues

Fungicide Ridomil for small areas is available in granular forms Ridomil Gold and Ridomil Gold MC. Granulation is carried out using the PEPIT technology patented by the manufacturer, which produces dense, non-dusting beige grains that are completely dispersed in water in less than 1 minute. As a result, preparing a working solution of the drug requires basic precautions: latex gloves on your hands, glasses on your face and a gauze bandage. But work with Ridomil on site must be carried out in full compliance with the safety rules for substances of the 2nd hazard class, see below!

Analogues of Ridomil in composition are the fungicides Tyler, Tragon, Fungicide Gold-M (what kind of marketer came up with the name?), Healer and Junker, produced in neighboring countries. But (remember, it will come in handy, see below), they are not yet selling the only registrant of Ridomil in the Russian Federation, Syngenta Crop Protection, and the license for PEPIT. Therefore, firstly, you need to work with Ridomil analogues at all stages of use as with substances of the 2nd hazard class, no matter what is written on the packaging. Secondly, Syngenta does not in any way guarantee the purity of analogue components or the quality of their manufacture.

About fakes

Syngenta Crop Protection brand name

Due to the effectiveness of Ridomil in especially severe emergency cases, there are a lot of not analogues on the market, but outright counterfeits of the drug. There is no need to focus on the original based on price: roguish artisanal manufacturers know consumer psychology very well and often charge a price higher than the real one for the price. It is also forbidden to open unpaid packaging and examine whether the granules are loose or dusty at the point of sale. The first way to distinguish an original from a fake is by the manufacturer’s brand name. Its exact appearance, color and proportions can be seen in the figure. Let us remind you that the only registrant of Ridomil in the Russian Federation is Syngenta Crop Protection, and they do not yet sell licenses for this drug. Direct theft of a company logo in Russia is punishable quite severely, and Switzerland is not a state with which anyone in their right mind would take liberties. Therefore, counterfeiters either remove the Syngenta logo, distort it, or do not include it at all. So, if this sign is not on the Ridomil bag or it is somehow different, do not take it.

The second, effective for the products of a number of completely reckless foreign manufacturers, is in terms of packaging. Ridomil for large areas is produced by Syngenta only in boxes of 1 and 5 kg, and Ridomil Gold and Ridomil Gold MC in vacuum-sealed bags of 25 and 50 g. The original drug is weighed exactly; packaging (bag) weighs approx. 1.2 and 1.6 g respectively. Place the package on a precision scale (electronic, for example); if the weight “goes apart”, don’t take it here/this one. And if the weight on the package is, say, 20 g, then it’s definitely either “scorched” or not the best analogue, see video:

Rules for preparing the solution

A fungicide is a potent substance. Therefore, before starting to work with it, you should wear protective equipment: gloves, a mask, a protective suit. All stages of preparation must take place under appropriate weather conditions: without direct sunlight.

To work, you will need a sprayer that has a built-in stirrer (mechanical or electric). No shaking of the mother liquor is allowed. Follow the cooking rules from the instructions:

  • fungicide Ridomil is added to the sprayer tank, which already contains some water;
  • The mixer turns on at low speed. At this point, the drug is gradually introduced;
  • after mixing, add liquid to the required volume;
  • stirring continues for another 3-5 minutes. The solution must be of homogeneous mass and structure.

The working mixture is ready for use. If there are crop pests on the surface of the plant, the first result will be their elimination.

Ridomil Gold is highly effective, especially against fungal diseases. Before using it, you should carefully read the instructions so that it gives the best results. Only then will it be possible to get rid of even the most serious problems.

Reviews

Summer residents note the high effectiveness of the drug. They use it at the first manifestations of the disease in order to quickly get rid of it.

“I use Ridomil for the initial symptoms of rust or spotting. If the infection has not yet progressed, one spray is enough. The product acts quickly” (Natalia, Vologda).

Summer residents also emphasize that caution must be taken when using the drug due to its toxicity. But the drug is definitely worth having in your plant first aid kit, as it helps even when hope is already lost.

“My father works in the vineyard and loves it. But we were always faced with illness. One day things went so far that we were afraid of losing all the landings. Fortunately, a neighbor recommended Ridomil. And he helped us, quickly and efficiently” (Yulia, Voronezh).
