I’ll immediately make a reservation that due to the climate, all my tomatoes grow in a greenhouse. I grow only indeterminate varieties, forming plants into 1 stem. Every year I select and plant 2-3 new varieties of tomatoes, but the main part of the greenhouse is occupied by my “favorites”: 'De Barao black', 'Pepper striped', 'Konigsberg', 'Yellow ball', 'Magic cascade', 'Red date' '.

Medium-late ripening variety (115–120 days). The fruits are small, weighing up to 60 g, very good for preservation. The advantages of the variety include its fertility, a fairly long fruiting period (I harvest the last tomatoes in October) and relative resistance to late blight.

Refers to mid-early varieties (10–110 days). The fruits are elongated, with an original color (this year they grew pepper-shaped, but for some reason without stripes!), weighing up to 120 g, fleshy and juicy, so they go well in salads or preparations such as lecho or borscht dressing.

Mid-season variety (110–115 days). Under favorable conditions, clusters of 4–5 fairly large fruits weighing up to 300 g are formed on the plant. The fruits are elongated, fleshy and juicy, and have a universal purpose. I prefer to eat them fresh. Resistant to late blight.

Mid-early variety (105–110 days). Last season it was one of the first to bear fruit. The fruits are small, round, yellow, juicy and sweet, weighing up to 150 g. Table variety.

Another cherry tomato. This one is probably my favorite. Medium late (110–115 days). Very prolific. The shape of the fruits really resembles dates, they are very sweet, and are suitable for whole-fruit canning and drying. A huge number of these tomatoes in our family are eaten “without anything”, because they are very tasty)) This variety of tomatoes in my greenhouse is the last to finish bearing fruit!

Previously I grew 'Orange date'. In terms of taste, it’s no worse than red, and it’s also a beautiful color. But, unfortunately, agro has stopped releasing this variety for sale separately. I tried to buy a mixture of Dates varieties (red, yellow, orange and pink), but only red and yellow ones grew. So now I only buy 'Red Date'.

Lamp tomatoes are not a hybrid. The seeds can be saved for planting next season. Before sowing, pickle tomato seeds in a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Plant seeds in disinfected soil, scattering them over the surface of abundantly moist soil. Sprinkle the seeds on top with a thin layer of dry soil (0.5 cm). Cover the boxes with film and germinate the seeds at a temperature not lower than +25°C.

When shoots appear, remove the film and grow the tomatoes for 2-3 weeks. By this time, 1-3 true leaves should appear on them. At this stage of growth, the bushes must be pruned, that is, planted at a distance of 10 cm from each other. You can also replant into separate pots.

Seedlings of pear-shaped varieties often stretch out and look frail. Such plants are planted in grooves in a horizontal position. After transplantation, the plants gain green mass well, become strong and quickly produce the first tassels with flowers. At this time you need to start forming the bush.

Above 1 brush, 1 side shoot (stepson) is left. The rest of the growth must be removed until the second cluster with flowers grows. You need to leave 1 more shoot above it so that the plant has 3 trunks. Soon tassels of flowers will also begin to form on them.

To grow large tomatoes for fresh consumption, you can remove some of the ovaries from the brush, leaving 5-7 pieces. near the trunk of the plant that sets first. During fruiting, the bushes are fed and watered, since moisture is needed to fill the fruits. But if there is too much water, the tomatoes will be tasteless. If there is no precipitation, watering is done 1-2 times a week. In this case, you need to pour at least 10 liters of water under each bush.

This tomato variety has several names: Lamp, Light Bulb and Aladdin's Lamp. The plants received this name because of the shape of the ripe fruits. Vegetables of this variety are actually shaped like small light bulbs or lamps. Growing the Light Bulb tomato variety is quite simple; even a beginner can cope with this task. First of all, before planting seedlings in open ground, you need to make sure that the soil is fertile. It is better to choose places for planting in the sun or partial shade.

A stable harvest can be obtained if seedlings are planted according to the 40 X 60 pattern. The distance between each bush should be large, since tomato bushes of this variety take up a lot of space. Before planting seedlings in a permanent place, it is recommended to add mineral and organic fertilizers to the soil. This could be potassium or phosphorus-containing fertilizers, manure, chicken droppings or wood ash.
