Description and types of fungicide Luna
The fungicide Luna Tranquility belongs to a new generation of combined preparations and has a systemic-local effect, as indicated in the instructions for use for vegetables, fruits, berries and ornamental crops. The substance is a suspension, which is sold in 2 ml, 1 liter and 5 liter plastic canisters. An unopened and undamaged container of fungicide can be stored for 3 years from the date of manufacture.
Luna Tranquility has several varieties with similar effects. These are combined full-system fungicides Luna Experience and Luna Sensation, also produced by Baer. The use of all bactericidal agents not only increases the yield of vegetable, fruit, and berry crops, but also ensures their better rooting and development at all stages of growth.
Classification and properties of fungicides
Fungicides are intended to prevent and treat fungal diseases on plants. “Fungicide” is translated as a compound word consisting of two parts – mushroom (“fungus”) and kill (“caedo”). Substances with a fungicidal effect are:
- chemical origin (inorganic);
- biological origin (organic).
The first group includes compounds of elements such as manganese, potassium, iron, nickel, mercury, copper, and sulfur. In the second group, there are no heavy metals among the components, and therefore decomposes over time due to the action of living microorganisms. Organic fungicides have a significant advantage over synthetic ones in their environmental friendliness and ease of preparation. In addition, biological preparations combine well with many other pesticides, while chemical ones cannot always be combined with drugs of another group. The disadvantage of biological fungicidal compounds is their rapid decomposition time. After a few days they are already destroyed, leaving no traces of their use in the soil.
Fungicides are classified according to their mode of action. They serve for:
- Prevention or protection of plants. Such drugs prevent infection of the crop by pathogens.
- Treatments. This group destroys fungi already at the plant infection phase.
But there are combination drugs that combine both types of effects on pathogenic fungi. Such broad-spectrum fungicides include the drug “Luna Tranquility”.
Mechanism of action of the drug
Systemic fungicides, including Luna Tranquility, when they come into contact with individual parts of cultivated plants, penetrate inside and block the cellular respiration of fungal spores. They provide reliable protection both from the inside and outside, spreading from the treated area to the most remote places to destroy pathogenic microflora. Fungicide Luna Tranquility, if you follow the instructions for use, does not require frequent spraying, but at the same time, it quite effectively destroys the causative agents of fungal spores.
The product contains two active substances:
- pyrimethanil;
- fluopyram.
The first component of the fungicide provides protection from pathogenic microflora in untreated areas. The second one continuously penetrates into plant tissues and blocks cellular respiration of fungal spores. Thanks to this composition, Luna Tranquility does not induce stable immunity or addiction in pathogens. If you use it according to the instructions for use, then you can forget about fungal diseases in your garden plot. Taken together, pyrimethanil and fluopyram have a therapeutic, preventive, and eradicating effect.
Advantages of a fungicide
- Reliably controls a wide range of pathogens belonging to the classes Deuteromycetes, Ascomycetes and Basidiomycetes, including nematodes;
- Eliminates storage rot pathogens during the growing season;
- Thanks to two active ingredients, it is not addictive;
- Fungicide Luna Tranquility is not phytotoxic;
- Accelerates the growth and development of crops, increases productivity;
- Helps increase shelf life, productivity, as well as the yield of marketable products;
- Slightly toxic to humans, animals, bees;
- It quickly decomposes in plants, so it does not pose a risk to human health.
Advantages and disadvantages of fungicide Luna
Application of the fungicide strictly according to the instructions is especially effective for apple trees and grapes. The ability of active substances to move upstream and act inside the leaf blade provides absolute protection of these crops from the most common diseases. This is confirmed by numerous positive reviews from gardeners. However, the use of Luna Tranquility has a beneficial effect on other crops: tomatoes, strawberries, pears, cucumbers. The fungicide has excellent activity in fairly cool conditions - at a temperature of about +10 oC, which makes it possible to protect plants from fungus in early and late periods. According to the detailed instructions, it is also effective for autumn processing of vegetables and fruits, before storing them.
Positive qualities of the innovative fungicide:
- A systemic drug can control the widest range of fungal diseases;
- rapidly decomposes in the soil without accumulating in fruits and roots;
- does not create addiction of fungal pathogens to the active ingredient due to the cross-action of two active substances;
- ensures excellent shelf life of vegetables and fruits, preservation of presentation;
- does not have a phytotoxic effect;
- when used correctly, strictly according to the instructions, it allows you to increase the quantity and quality of the harvest of all crops;
- is safe for humans, animals, birds, bees and plants themselves;
- acts for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes.
No disadvantages have been identified in the low-toxic product.
