Features of growing tomatoes

Sowing of Biyskaya Rosa tomato seedlings is carried out from March to mid-April or 60 days before the planned transplant date.

Growing seedlings

Seeds of a tomato variety must undergo preparation and preliminary processing. To combat diseases and pests, the seed undergoes a disinfection process.

The most popular remedy is potassium permanganate solution. Tomato seeds are placed in a weak pale pink solution for 15 minutes. After this, they must be washed in running water.

Tomato seedlings can be grown in any container. Containers and equipment must be disinfected before work. A layer of drainage 2-3 cm thick is poured onto the bottom. For this you can use small stones, pebbles, and expanded clay.

Biysk rose needs light, loose, fertile soil. You can use a ready-made composition available in the store.

The soil mixture is poured over the drainage and compacted tightly. The seeds are deepened by 1-1.5 cm, they can be placed in already prepared grooves at intervals of 3 cm. The crops are covered with a thin layer of soil and watered.

Watering the variety is done with warm water from a spray bottle. For the emergence of friendly shoots, the crops are covered with plastic film or glass. It is advisable to withstand temperatures of + 24, +25 degrees.

Watering the seedlings is carried out as the top layer of soil dries. Twice during the period of growing seedlings, fertilizing with a mineral fertilizer complex is carried out. The first time - after a week in the diving field, the second time - a week before transplanting into the ground.

Diving tomatoes

When the first two true full-fledged leaves are formed, a dive is carried out. For Biyskaya Rose tomatoes, this procedure is necessary.

A couple of hours before the procedure, the seedlings need to be watered abundantly, so the soil will become much softer. Carefully dig under the root and transfer to prepared containers with drainage and soil. The bushes are deepened to the first cotyledon leaves, then watered well. Within a week, the seedlings will get used to the new place and begin the rooting process. Afterwards feeding is carried out.

Transplantation into the ground

To make tomatoes more easily tolerate transplantation and sudden changes in growth conditions, they are hardened a week before the planting date.

First, the seedlings are taken out onto the balcony or street for 15-30 minutes, and the stay time is increased every day. On the last day, if there is no frost, you can leave it for a day.

Replanting begins when the weather stabilizes, night frosts stop, and the soil warms up to +14 degrees.

Before planting, the area is dug up with the addition of wood ash and shallow holes are dug.

Biyskaya Rosa tomatoes are very spreading, so the holes should be located at a considerable distance. Planting frequency is 2-3 bushes per 1 square meter. Humus or rotted leaves are placed in the holes. They are watered generously with warm water. The seedlings are deepened in the center and covered with earth. They do not require watering for a week.

Recommendations for cultivation

You can grow Biysk rose both in greenhouses and in open ground, the only thing worth noting is that in a greenhouse the bushes grow larger and reach a height of up to 1.5 meters. For a good harvest, you should leave 2, maximum 3 stems. The Biysk rose does not require special care; watering, fertilizing and a little sun are all that these tomatoes need .

Fruit characteristics

Tomatoes grow large, with an approximate weight of about half a kilogram. The skin is soft, while eating it practically does not attract attention to itself, and its color is unusually bright. There are no seeds inside, the flesh is tender. It tastes sweet and sugary. It is better not to store tomatoes of this variety for a long time; they are great for eating right away. They are also suitable for making tomato juice.

The productivity of the variety is high. From each bush you can get 5-6 tomatoes. This is a good indicator for a small bush. This yield satisfies every gardener who produces tomatoes of this variety.

Diseases and pests

The Biysk rose does not have such resistance as hybrid varieties. Therefore, preventive measures are necessary, especially against late blight.

Among the pests, like all tomatoes, the Colorado potato beetle can attack. But this happens when the seedlings are small, and you can easily get rid of it without loss to the harvest.

Reviews about the variety from those who planted

The variety is quite popular throughout the country and gardeners like it for its unpretentiousness to the environment. Also, many praise the excellent sweet taste of the fruit and large-fruited size.

If you have a goal to grow large, pink, tasty, and most importantly not fussy tomatoes in your garden, then “Biysk Rose” is what you need.

Review from a gardener:

With the arrival of spring, gardeners begin to think about their future harvest. Of course, there are vegetables that can be planted directly into the ground, but the Biysky Rozan tomato requires preliminary planting as seedlings at home, since you need to take care of planting them in the ground in advance. You must first start growing seedlings in boxes. Tomatoes are most people's favorite vegetable.

Disease resistance

The Biysk rozan tomato (reviews confirm this) is considered quite resistant to the harmful effects of pathogenic microorganisms of various factions. However, it is vulnerable to a fungal disease - late blight (as are most nightshades). The development of late blight is promoted by increased soil and air humidity. But, even if the tomatoes look absolutely healthy in appearance, for preventive purposes they can be treated with fungicides. Because the defeat of one bush can lead to the death of the entire crop.
