In the modern world, there is a lot of information that hybrids have low yields and do not have a rich taste. That is why many gardeners try to pay as little attention as possible to f1 hybrids. But, tomato Tyler managed to completely refute this information. Those who planted it on their plots are completely satisfied with its characteristics.

Description of tomato Tyler

Characteristics of the variety

Literally 10 years ago, a Chinese company decided to develop hybrid tomato varieties. The Chinese opened a branch of their company in the Russian Federation and Russian breeders immediately began developing the Tyler F1 tomato. To date, there is no information that the Tyler tomato of category f1 has been included in the State Register. But this does not prevent him from being popular among the public.

This variety of hybrid is ideal for growing in any climatic conditions of the country, but only with proper care. In warm climates, cultivation is carried out in open ground, and in cold climates - in greenhouses.

Description of the bush

Tomato Tyler f1 is characterized by an indeterminant type of development. That is, its growth in height and width has no restrictions. A bush of this species has a well-developed structure, and the root system develops regardless of soil nutrition. Dark green leaves completely cover the entire stem of the bush.

The space between the nodes is small, which allows the fruit to form in clusters. Moreover, the height of the greenhouse can be very small. About 10 fruits can ripen on 1 cluster. If care is carried out according to all requirements, then the number of fruits in 1 bunch can reach 15 pieces. This hybrid matures in an average amount of time. It is believed that the growing season is only 100 days.

Description of the fruit

The fruits ripen in large quantities. From 1 m2 it is possible to harvest about 15 kg of selected tomato vegetables. Tomatoes are round in shape with a small flattened area at the tip. Tomatoes have a rich red hue, without flaws in the form of spots. The surface of the peel is dense and has a glossy surface. The weight of the tomato is average and is about 200 g.

The taste is rich, with notes of sweetness. When the fruit is cut open, sugar characteristics are observed. A distinctive feature of tomatoes is that sugar and acid are balanced with each other. This is a universal variety that can be used for preparing fresh salads, canning or tomato paste. When salted or preserved, all tomatoes retain their original appearance.

Description of tomato

The Tyler f1 variety is considered the most productive among hybrids capable of growing in greenhouses and greenhouses both with and without heating. Manufacturers classify this tomato as an indeterminate development category.

Bushes of the Tyler variety are quite lush, up to 2 m high, spreading their branches widely. The powerful stems are densely dotted with dark green leaves of medium and large size. Having formed 6–7 leaves, the first clusters of a complex, often double shape are formed, on which from 10 to 15 tomatoes grow.

The tomato is distinguished by the fact that it can withstand sudden changes in air temperature and during such changes the plant does not shed its leaves. Tyler's strong root system allows seedlings to be planted vertically or horizontally, in which the bushes can form a highly branched root structure.

Important! In order to obtain an early harvest, the growth of plants of the Tyler f1 variety is limited in height after the formation of 5–6 clusters. In this case, all active resources will be used to accelerate the growth of tomatoes.

Thanks to the short internodes on the stems and the abundance of leaves on them, up to ten fruits can form on any tomato brush, each of which can reach an average weight of 160–180 grams.

The Tyler f1 tomato variety usually produces up to nine clusters, and with more careful care it is possible to get up to fifteen. Short internodes allow many fruits to grow, spaced as close to each other as possible. This remarkable feature of the hybrid makes it possible to plant tomatoes in low greenhouses.

The early ripeness of tomatoes is beneficial for gardeners to grow the Tyler f1 variety for sale in the off-season. Since tomatoes are capable of bearing fruit and yielding fruit twice during the season, during this period you can get a good profit for them.

A distinctive feature of the Tyler f1 hybrid is also its resistance to all kinds of diseases inherent in tomatoes, such as: bacterial canker, fusarium, tomato mosaic virus, verticellosis, powdery mildew.

Description of fruits

Tomatoes of the Tyler f1 variety set well even at low temperatures, poor light and heat. Stressful conditions do not affect the ripening of tomatoes.

The level of acidity and sugar content in the fruits is balanced, due to which the vegetables have a sweetish taste. In terms of its nutritional qualities, the Tyler f1 variety is even better than some common categories of tomatoes. Juicy spherical fruits with pulp without veins and pigmentation have a rich red color. The skin of tomatoes is thick and shiny.

Growing rules

Seedlings should be hardened off before planting

It is important to note the fact that the seeds of this variety should not be immediately planted in open ground conditions. Negative environmental influences, such as cold weather, can cause destruction of the root system, so seeds must be planted to obtain seedlings. This is done 50 days before transplantation into open ground is planned.

Before planting, in the fall, it is necessary to add organic fertilizers to the soil. To do this, it is recommended to use bird droppings, humus or peat. This will allow the soil to absorb a large amount of useful components and have a better effect on the planted plants. As soon as the first leaves begin to form on the seedlings, they must be transplanted into open soil. But, it must be hardened in advance by changing the temperature regime in the greenhouse. Plants should be planted at a distance of 50 cm from each other, but the distance between rows should be about 60 cm.

Ripening time and yield

Hybrid Tyler F1 is an early-ripening variety; its fruit ripening period is about one hundred days. Due to the fact that the plant has short internodes, a large number of fruits can ripen on one branch, and the greenhouse can be low, since the fruits are formed on almost the entire surface of the stem as close to each other as possible.

A tomato of this variety usually produces nine clusters, but with good care there can be up to fifteen. On average, about ten tomatoes ripen on each bunch. Each of them can weigh from 160 to 200 grams.

Care

The Tyler variety of tomato is easy to care for. It requires standard care, which consists of watering, fertilizing and loosening the soil. At some points in time, if necessary, it is possible to form a bush into 1 stem and hill up the root system. Watering is carried out with water at room temperature and only in the evening. This condition provides the root system with more moisture. Loosening the soil and removing weeds should be carried out because the root system will thus receive much more air and nutrients.

If the soil begins to settle during watering, hilling should be carried out. If you ignore this condition, the roots may dry out and the yield will drop to zero. The description of the variety indicates that it is not necessary to form a bush into 1 stem. But, to achieve better yields, it is better to carry out this procedure. To do this, all the side shoots are broken off, but the main stem remains in place. Fertilizers include only minerals, so it is important to pay attention to phosphorus and nitrogen components. They allow the stem to develop better and reveal the taste of the tomato.

History of appearance in Russia

Perhaps, especially for all summer residents who strive not only to grow tomatoes for themselves, but also to sell their surplus harvests, seeds of hybrid tomatoes from the Japanese company Kitano appeared on the seed market about five years ago.

Comment! Tomatoes grown from these seeds literally upended all the traditional ideas of gardeners, both amateurs and professionals, about the taste of tomato hybrids.

They were truly sweet, juicy with a real tomato spirit, but also stored well and easily traveled many hundreds of kilometers. True, they originally appeared on the territory of Ukraine, and Russian gardeners for the most part could only envy and salivate in the hope of getting such interesting seeds.

Attention! Several years ago, the Kitano company opened its official representative office in Russia, and finally gardeners and farmers had the opportunity to test the long-awaited tomato hybrids on their plots.

Of course, as in any matter, there were disappointments and successes, but in general the description of the properties of these hybrids was confirmed. And now Russian gardeners have the opportunity to choose not only tomato varieties based on their taste properties, but also to try various hybrids from Kitano. Initially, these hybrids received only a numerical designation, and only after some time the most popular of them acquired their own name. This happened with the Tyler tomato, which, according to consumer reviews in Ukraine, in recent years has ranked first in popularity among indeterminate tomatoes.

Parasites and diseases

Tyler category f1 is resistant to diseases such as late blight, powdery mildew or spotting, so you don’t have to worry about taking preventive measures. The only problem with this variety is insect exposure. The whole point is that each region has its own parasites and breeders were unable to create a universal variety that would have equal immunity levels in all regions of the country.

In the fight against the Colorado potato beetle, it is advisable to use a drug called Regent. If the war is waged against greenhouse whitefly, then you should pay attention to traditional methods of control. Spray with soapy water. Wood ash mixed in equal quantities with red hot pepper will come to the rescue against slugs. The use of copper-containing preparations will help against aphids: Tabbu or Araks.

Planting and watering

The Tyler tomato is planted after the seedlings have at least eight leaves (usually this happens in late April or early May). The height of the seedling itself can already be 25-30 centimeters. Due to the branched and well-developed root system, this variety of tomato does not tolerate close proximity: no more than 6 plants can be planted per square meter of land.

It is better to plant this variety in greenhouses, but in large areas, if it is not possible to equip a sufficient number of greenhouses, plants can also grow in open ground. But in such cases you need to be prepared to cover the tomatoes with film.

Before planting seedlings in the ground, the dug holes must be pre-moistened, and there is no need to water immediately after planting: it will be required after about a week.

In general, the regularity of watering will be 3-7 days, depending on the air temperature.

Soil requirements

Reviews from gardeners indicate that tomatoes are picky about the soil. The plot of land on which the tomato is planted must contain all the nutrients. It is advisable that the following crops grow in the soil before this:

  • legumes or pumpkin;
  • pepper or potatoes;
  • eggplant or physalis;
  • any forage crops.
  • Tomatoes like loamy soil. If a piece of land tends to acidify, before planting the Tyler tomato, add chalk or charcoal to the holes. To ensure good soil breathability for the crop, before planting the soil is mixed with leaf humus or coarse sand. These points should be given due attention so as not to complain later about the poor development of the bush.

    The plot of land must be protected from strong winds. It is not recommended to plant tomatoes near trees, which limit the exposure of the plant to sunlight.

    The description of the vegetable contains detailed information about planting and care. If you follow the instructions, a person will receive an early harvest with the expected taste. Even a beginner in the agricultural field will be able to cope with growing Tyler F1 tomatoes.

    Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

    The Tyler tomato is suitable for growing in any region of Russia, regardless of climatic conditions. In the south, the crop can be cultivated in open ground, protected from direct sunlight. In the central, northern regions, Tyler tomatoes are grown only in greenhouses.

    Even in homemade, low greenhouses, the Tyler hybrid gives an excellent harvest if it is properly cared for

    pros

    • early fruit ripening;
    • excellent appearance and taste of tomatoes;
    • high crop yield;
    • hybrid resistance to pests and diseases;
    • harvested Tyler tomatoes do not lose their presentation during long-term storage in a cool room.

    Minuses

    • the Tyler variety is not resistant to pests if grown in open ground;
    • the seeds degenerate, every year before planting they are purchased anew from the manufacturer;
    • the hybrid's requirements for fertilizing;
    • the crop is sensitive to the composition of the soil in which it grows.

    How to grow Boogie Woogie tomatoes

    Among the hybrids and varieties of tomatoes, pink-fruited ones are considered the most delicious. Judging by the reviews of gardeners, the Boogie Woogie tomato fully confirms this opinion. In addition to beautiful fruits (see photo) and excellent taste, the hybrid is famous for its unpretentiousness and high yield rates. Recommended for regions with temperate climates, for cultivation in shelters (film and polycarbonate greenhouses, greenhouses).

    Description of the variety

    Boogie Woogie is a hybrid tomato characterized by fast ripening and resistance to adverse factors. Since 2007, the variety has been included in the State Register catalog and is grown in different areas.

    The fruits ripen early, reaching technical ripeness after 100-103 days. On heavily leafy bushes, several clusters of 3-5 tomatoes each are formed. The plants are powerful, strong, although not particularly tall (up to 1.3 meters). The root system is well developed, the leaf blades are medium sized and bright green in color.

    It is recommended to grow plants in 1-2 trunks, cutting off excess leaves and removing stepsons in a timely manner.

    Belongs to the indeterminate group, requires increased nutrition and timely watering. The fruits are smooth, beautiful, rich pink in color. There are no stripes or spots. By weight - 250-290 grams.

    The pulp is very juicy, fleshy and dense. Inside there are 3-4 chambers, few seeds. Therefore, the fruits are used to prepare salads, pasta, ketchup, sauces, and soups. It must be taken into account that during processing the tomato mass is not bright red, but pinkish in color.

    The fruits taste sweet, with a pleasant aroma. Sugar content is about 3%. The taste depends on the correct agricultural technology, regularity of fertilizing and watering.

    Suitable for short-term storage and transportation. In boxes and boxes they keep their shape and retain their presentation.

    Advantages and disadvantages

    The hybrid has no obvious disadvantages. It is hardly worth considering the need to form a bush and install trellises as a “minus”.

    good tomato taste; high product characteristics; early ripening (important for regions with difficult climatic conditions); the ability to grow in shelters, on ridges; good yield (up to 5-6 kg per plant); friendly return of fruits; resistance to diseases (fusarium wilt, tobacco mosaic virus).

    Gardeners note that the fruits can be canned and used for pickling (in slices). Hybrid Boogie Woogie F1 is planted in different areas, there are no particular complaints or negative reviews.

    Features of agricultural technology

    In most regions of the country, the hybrid is grown through seedlings. The timing of sowing seeds is calculated based on the climate and growing conditions (on ridges, in shelters).

    The seedlings should be 58-65 days old at the time of planting, strong and healthy.

    Before planting, tomatoes must be accustomed to new conditions. Hardening promotes rapid adaptation and increases plant immunity to diseases.

    When the soil warms up to +14ºC...+16ºC, plants can be planted, following the distance recommendations. The hybrid has powerful growth, so leave at least 50-60 cm between the bushes.

    Small tomato seedlings in beds are initially covered with non-woven material or film and watered after planting no earlier than 5-6 days later.

    Further standard care:

    • rare but abundant watering;
    • adding nutrient mixtures (3-4 times during the summer);
    • loosening;
    • mulching;
    • formation of bushes;
    • regular removal of stepchildren.

    Preventative spraying of the variety against diseases and pests is carried out. The tomato is little susceptible to infections; it “escapes” late blight due to the early ripening of the fruit.

    In the first period of the growing season, nitrogen makes up a significant proportion of the fertilizing, and in the second half - potassium and phosphorus. Watering a hybrid tomato with an infusion of herbs and yeast gives a good effect.

    Harvest tomatoes as they ripen. It is allowed to harvest tomatoes at the stage of technical ripeness in order to allow the next batches of fruit to form

    The Boogie Woogie tomato is one of the promising hybrids recommended for cultivation on farms and on the plots of amateur gardeners.

    Review

    Egorova Galina, 45 years old, Yeisk Tomatoes are proven, I recommend them for growing in film greenhouses. They taste great and can be kept fresh for a long time. Special production processing allows you to avoid soaking the seeds - this is very convenient. I was amazed at the germination of tomatoes. It is advisable to pick them when they are slightly tanned to allow the formation of new fruits. Natalya Fomina, 37 years old, Stary Oskol, chose Tyler f1 tomatoes based on reviews and photos. And I was not disappointed. They grow well in a greenhouse with a height of 1.8 m, without touching the ceiling. I appreciate Tyler for its interesting taste and the fact that it lasts a long time and looks fresh. The tomatoes set very well; on each bush, with constant feeding, from 6 to 8 tomatoes grew. I am pleased with the purchase of such a hybrid, I will definitely buy more.

    Nuances of care when breeding in open ground and in greenhouses

    A distinctive feature of the hybrid is the ability to plant seeds directly in open beds, without growing seedlings. This method is used mainly by residents of the southern regions. Caring for a tomato is no different from growing through seedlings.

    When planting in the ground, it is necessary to maintain a distance between tomatoes, despite their small growth. Closely planted spreading bushes will interfere with each other's access to sunlight and ventilation, which will undoubtedly affect their development.

    When planting in a greenhouse, it is important to replace the top layer of soil with a new one. Spores of pathogenic fungi and pests successfully overwinter in the greenhouse shelter

    When plants are planted in unhealthy soil, the seedlings quickly die.

    In greenhouse conditions, tomato bushes are attacked by a pest such as spider mites. To protect plantings from insects, it is enough to ventilate closed structures daily. Fresh air destroys the usual habitat of the greenhouse pest.
