Planting and propagation

The growing process should begin with planting seedlings.
It is necessary to prepare wooden boxes. Fill them with a nutrient mixture and provide drainage holes. First lay a layer of expanded clay, and then the soil.

The soil can be purchased ready-made at a specialty store. Making your own nutrient mixture is based on mixing peat and turf soil.

Scatter the planting material onto the surface of pre-moistened soil. Lightly sprinkle with earth.

Cover the box with film to achieve a greenhouse effect. For germination, maintain a temperature of +18-20 degrees. Planting activities should be carried out in the first half of March.

Interesting! The flowering of the De Barao variety lasts until autumn, and in warm weather fruiting continues.

If you use packaged seeds for planting, you do not need to prepare them in advance.

Planting material collected from your own garden bed requires preparation.

Soak the seeds in a solution of potassium permanganate. A self-prepared nutrient mixture should also be treated with a solution of potassium permanganate and hardened.

Remove the covering material and ventilate the seedlings every day. Otherwise they may ban it. As soon as sprouts form, remove the film.

To prevent the plant from stretching, it is necessary to extend daylight hours using additional lighting. After the formation of the first true leaves, you can proceed to picking. Growing seedlings indoors lasts until May.

Attention! Seedlings of this variety need to be picked when several leaves appear on the bushes.
