Agricultural technology for growing “Sparks of Flame”

Sowing begins 55-60 days before the intended transfer to the greenhouse. These deadlines are different in each region. As mentioned above, if you want tomatoes to begin to bear fruit faster, then immediately plant the seeds in separate cups and, even better, they should be made from peat. This way you will bypass the picking stage, and during the transfer of seedlings the roots will not be injured, since you can place the bushes in the soil directly in cups.

As for the soil, you can buy a universal soil; you can mix a spoonful of superphosphate with garden soil, humus, and sand. You can replace the first component with ash. After which the crops are moistened and placed under film.

To speed up germination and at the same time additionally provide the seedlings with immunity, you can use special preparations. For example, Zircon performed well.

While your seedlings are growing at home, you can start preparing the greenhouse, where you need to dig up the soil or replace it with new one. It is also necessary to pour a hot solution of manganese to disinfect and destroy parasites. Afterwards you make three holes per square meter, and also prepare a trellis. Transfer to the greenhouse will occur when the frosts have passed and the soil has warmed up by 15 degrees.

Your seedlings will grow well, especially if they are given plenty of light, warmth and moisture. Around May, you will plant them in the greenhouse and immediately tie them up. Superphosphate can be added to the wells. It is better to avoid nitrogen fertilizers, otherwise the bushes will produce a lot of greenery, but organic matter, phosphorus, potassium fertilizers, and ash can be applied every 15-20 days. The first time after the transfer, feed is applied at least 14 days later.

Of course, you must remove weeds, shoots, and ventilate the greenhouse. To form two stems for maximum yield, leave one stepson in the upper axil. It and the main stem will grow. The first fruits will soon begin to form in the clusters - 7-8 pieces in each. If the year turned out to be painful for crops, then it is better to protect your tomatoes. Experienced summer residents advise tying bottles of iodine to the bushes; this saves them from attack by pathogenic microorganisms. Here is the “Sparks of Flame” tomato and its description of the variety.

This tomato really looks unique and tastes very good. You can add variety to your table and surprise your guests.

Features of cultivation and storage

Tomatoes are grown only from seedlings. The first fertilizing in the greenhouse is carried out 2 weeks after planting. The variety loves organic matter, so for feeding it is better to ferment green fertilizer or infuse mullein.

After flowering begins, the bushes are fertilized with phosphorus and potassium. You can infuse the ash:

  1. pour a tablespoon of powder into a liter of water;
  2. stand for a day;
  3. pour under one plant.

Complex feeding that stimulates fruit formation:

  • superphosphate 80 g;
  • potassium nitrate 40 g;
  • water 10 l.

The granules are dissolved and the plant is watered at the rate of a liter per root.

The bushes are tall and fast-growing, so fertilizing needs to be done at least once every 10 days.

Planting seeds for seedlings

Sparks of Flame tomato seeds begin to be sown in early March. However, depending on the region, the timing may vary. And if you plan to plant seedlings in open ground, then the seeds are planted as late as possible. On average, you can wait two weeks after the standard deadline. For sowing, it is better to use ready-made soil for seedlings, but in order to save money, you can mix peat with woody soil.

Seeds are prepared the day before planting. They need to be placed in a cloth moistened with water and wait until they swell. After this, the next day you need to plant the seeds in a box.

Growing seedlings

Seedlings require good care:

  • Provide a minimum of 12 hours of light per day;
  • Ventilate the room so that the plant receives enough fresh air for growth;
  • Water to keep the soil constantly moist. Only warm water is used for irrigation.

The plant needs to be thinned as soon as at least two leaves appear on the stem. 15 days after this, it is necessary to fertilize with mineral fertilizers.

Transplanting

60 days after planting the seeds, the seedlings are planted in open ground, if the climate allows, or in a greenhouse. But 14 days before this it is required to harden it. To begin with, leave a box of seedlings near an open window for several hours. She is then exposed outside for several hours a day. And the day before planting in the greenhouse, you need to keep the box with seedlings there.

Before planting, it is necessary to form holes and water them abundantly with water. After 2 hours you can plant the seedlings.

This tomato really looks unique and tastes very good. You can add variety to your table and surprise your guests.

Tomato Sparks Flame

The variety gives a higher yield when planting seedlings in a greenhouse. I grow seedlings as standard. I sow the seeds in boxes in mid-March and transplant the seedlings into the greenhouse in May. All the soil in the greenhouse is mulched with straw and spruce needles - this way less moisture evaporates and less weeding is needed. I prefer organic fertilizers. I take a solution of mullein or bird droppings and pour 0.5-1 liters under each bush. Oval-shaped tomatoes with an unusual pointed nose and unique color are in good demand on the market. Transportability is high. To be tasty, they must ripen on the bushes.

The tomato impresses with its unusual color even at the ripening stage - it is not completely green, but has light stripes. After full ripening it turns red, and the stripes become a rich yellow color. They grow large, in my practice there were 350 g specimens. But there are 8-10 of them on the bushes, although the bushes are tall. I pinch the tops at a height of 1.5 m. It doesn’t suffer from late blight, nor does it suffer from tobacco mosaic. I fertilized it several times - I took biofertilizer granules and watered it with the solution. The skin, although not hard, is dense. Stored well. She saved me from mole crickets with wood ash - she sprayed it on the bushes.

I really liked the variety: the tomatoes have an unusual color and a decent taste. They can be eaten and preserved with pleasure. I planted seedlings with seeds and they all sprouted. Transplanted 2-month-old seedlings into a greenhouse. Previously, 2 weeks beforehand, I spilled the soil of the greenhouse with HOM solution. This is how I got rid of fungal diseases. I put a handful of tomato fertilizer in each hole (I really like it). Water the sprouts generously, and then don’t need to water them for a week or two. The tomatoes grew tall and had to be trimmed off the tops. I formed it into 1 stem, and regularly trimmed the remaining stepsons. There were a lot of tomatoes, I collected a small bucket from each stem. Delicious and sweet!

I bought this variety a couple of years ago out of curiosity. I liked it, so I plant it every year. It has a cream shape and an unusual color - there are elongated orange stripes all over the red skin. To plant these seeds for seedlings, I use peat tablets - this way you don’t have to plant the plants in pots. I fertilize with superphosphate and harden the seedlings before planting in open ground. I plant the bushes at a distance of 40 cm, install supports 2 m high and tie up the trunks. Tomatoes are juicy and meaty. Length – up to 13 cm and weight – 200 g. We eat them in salads and preserve them in pieces.
