Composition and beneficial properties
Beneficial properties of sweet potatoes
Sweet potatoes contain the following minerals: phosphorus, iron, calcium, which have a positive effect on the human body and strengthen the immune system. The root vegetable also contains vitamins A, C and beta-carotene.
Interesting fact : the calorie content of sweet potato root vegetables per 100 grams of product is on average 61 kcal.
The pulp of sweet potatoes contains fibers that the stomach is not able to digest. They leave the body gradually, along with toxins and waste. Sweet potatoes also contain starch in large quantities, which is why they are recommended for people with digestive tract diseases.
It is also recommended for people with diabetes to eat root vegetables. After digestion, the pulp slows down the penetration of glucose into the veins and blood vessels. Due to the presence of complex carbohydrates, sweet potatoes are recommended for athletes. It reduces muscle pain after workouts.

Characteristics of the root crop
Potatoes "Kiranda" belong to the early table varieties. Tubers ripen within 50 days after planting. This early maturity is ideal for the southern regions. If properly dried, the collected tubers are stored well.
The bushes are medium in size, moderately spreading, the formation of green mass is average. The leaves are dark green, medium-sized, simple, with slightly wavy edges and clearly defined veins. The corolla is compact, collected from large light purple flowers. Flowering is sparse; in particularly hot summers, corollas may not form ; this does not affect the setting of tubers. Berry production is low.
The root system is very powerful; at least 20 potatoes are formed under each bush. Particularly prolific bushes can produce 30 substantial-sized root crops.
A special feature of the super-early potato variety “Kiranda” is the ability to vary quality depending on climatic zones and growing conditions. The pulp changes color from cream to yellow , the peel can be denser or very thin. On fertile soils, tubers become large and even, but on poor soils they become smaller, changing shape.
The variety is little susceptible to diseases . It is not affected by potato cancer, golden cyst nematode, or common scab. Tubers show good resistance to viruses and fungal diseases, rarely suffering from late blight or fusarium, although the use of fungicides may occasionally be required.
“Kiranda” has a pleasant, balanced taste. The tubers are not dry, not watery , and the tender light yellow flesh does not darken when cut and cooked. The moderate starch content prevents potatoes from overcooking; root vegetables can be fried, stewed, stuffed, baked, or deep-fried.
The variety is suitable for the industrial preparation of semi-finished products : frozen French fries, vegetable mixtures or soup dressings.
