Reviews

Vladislav

Priovrazhnoye

The pear has grown quite tall, with a spreading crown, so this variety is definitely not suitable for a small garden plot. The tree itself does not require special care and very rarely gets sick. However, I was upset that I waited 7 whole years for the first harvest from it.

Planting and care

The best time for planting Firefly pears is autumn , but if you want to plant in the spring , you will need to prepare holes for this in the fall.

These trees will feel best in loose soil, which facilitates access of air and moisture to the roots. It would be great if the soil contained a little clay, which would help retain moisture near the roots of the tree.

Planting holes should be prepared in sunny, but not very hot places in your garden. The depth of the planting hole should be about 40-50 centimeters, and the width should be about 1 meter. It is advisable that the pits be located on the south, west or southwest side.

The soil dug out of the hole must be mixed with organic fertilizers, which can be rotted manure, peat or compost, as well as mineral fertilizers, which include phosphorus and potassium. Lime and wood ash must be added to acidic soil

First you need to make a small mound of soil at the bottom of the hole, and drive a peg into the center. After this, you need to place the seedling in the hole and carefully distribute its roots over the mound. Fill the hole with soil and tamp it down.

Immediately after planting, make an earthen ridge around the tree and pour two buckets of water into it. When it is absorbed, mulch the soil and tie the tree to a stake , without over-tightening it.

Svetlyanka pears need to be watered several times during spring and summer.

The best method of watering for these trees is sprinkling, but you can also pour water into a ditch dug around the trunk circle. For one square meter of tree trunk circle, 3 buckets of water will be enough.

One of the features of the Svetlyanka pear is its tendency to reduce the size of the fruit as the crown thickens, so it is necessary to regularly prune it.

to enrich the soil where the Firefly pear grows with organic fertilizers once every three years, and mineral fertilizers should be applied annually , starting from the second year after planting the trees.

Attention! The variety has increased resistance to cold, so these trees do not need to be covered in winter.

Diseases and pests

The variety is highly resistant to various diseases. In order to completely eliminate the risk of disease, it is necessary to carry out regular preventive measures. Recommendations for plant protection can be found in the articles selected below.

Diseases of pear trees

To get what they cherish, gardeners have to work hard, and the reason for this is pear diseases.

Read about 19 common pear diseases and how to combat them.

Pests

  1. Pear sawfly - its larvae are located in the middle of the ovary, feed on the core, then move on to neighboring fruits. The larva can damage 3-4 fruits, causing them to turn black.
  2. Fruit mites - feed on tree sap, which leads to disruption of water balance, slowdown of photosynthesis and premature leaf fall.
  3. Codling moths actively devour the fruits of pear crops and lay eggs on them.
  4. Hawthorn - destroys all ovaries and flowers, leaving behind only bare branches.
  5. The common pear borer is a pest that sucks sap from tree leaves, after which they curl and fall off. The trees weaken and bear fruit poorly.
  6. Moths and aphids are pests that can quickly destroy a pear tree by biting into young shoots and leaves. They can eat the fruits.

Control and prevention measures for this variety include treatment with insecticides, cutting and disposal of damaged tree structures, whitewashing the trunk with fungicides and clearing it of old bark.

Description of Firefly Pears - all the details of care and planting: Review + Video

If you want a Firefly pear to grow on your site, you should carefully read all the information before you start doing anything.
Information about what features of the variety you should know and how to properly plant and care for trees will never hurt you.

You can see a detailed description of all the characteristic features and many photos in the article.

Choosing a landing site

In spring or autumn, planting a young plant on a plot of land makes no fundamental difference; the conditions in which the seedling finds itself are more important than the time of its “settlement”.

The pear cannot be considered a picky plant, but, like any other species, it has its own preferences, and they must be taken into account when choosing a place for planting, otherwise you will not see good harvests.

The tree is powerful, with age the crown of the Larinskaya variety becomes spreading, and since the Larinskaya pear does not tolerate close proximity, the place for planting it must be chosen away from buildings, fences and plants that could compete with it.

For normal growth and fruiting, a pear needs a lot of sunlight; if it is deficient, the tree does not gain full growth, the fruits are small, sour, weakly pigmented, the crown of the tree must be well ventilated, this is necessary to prevent fungal diseases.

From all this it follows that for the pear you need to choose a free, well-ventilated and lit place.

The pear is not too picky about the composition of the soil; it grows worse on heavy loams, but any soil can be improved when planting the plant.

When choosing a location, you need to pay attention to the fact that a good harvest is only possible if other pears grow nearby. The best pollinators for the Larinskaya variety are the following varieties: Severyanka and Skazochnaya

The best pollinators for the Larinskaya variety are the following varieties: Severyanka and Skazochnaya.

Characteristics

5-6 years after planting, fruits can be expected from the Svetlyanka pear variety. The fruits become ripe in early September and can be stored for 90 days .

This variety is characterized by fairly good yield and excellent frost resistance , as it can withstand sub-zero temperatures down to 35 degrees Celsius. The Firefly pear does not need pollinators.

Gera, Krasulya, Dekabrinka, Dessertnaya Rossoshanskaya and Karataevskaya also demonstrate good resistance to frost.

Planting and care details

Season

The best time to plant Svetlyanka pears is considered to be autumn.

If you decide to plant in the spring, then everything necessary for planting should be prepared in the fall.

The soil

These trees will be most comfortable in loose soil, which allows moisture and air to pass well to the roots.

It will be great if there is a little clay in the soil, which will help moisture stay longer at the root system of the tree.

Pit preparation

Holes for planting should be prepared in sufficiently lit, but not the hottest places in your area or garden. The depth of the pit should be approximately 0.5 m and the width should be 1 m. It is advisable that they be located on the west, south or southwest side.

The soil that was dug out of the hole for planting the Firefly pear should be mixed with organic fertilizers, which could be manure, compost, peat and mineral fertilizers (phosphorus or potassium must be present). Add wood ash (or lime) to acidic soil.

So, first make an earthen mound at the bottom of the hole, and drive a peg into the center. After this, you need to place the seedling in the hole and distribute the roots over the mound as carefully as possible. Next, fill the hole with soil and compact it with slams.

Actions after landing

Next, you should immediately make a roller around the tree and pour a couple of buckets of water into it. When it is completely absorbed, mulch the soil and tie your newly made garden decoration to the stake, being careful not to overtighten.

The best way for proper watering is, of course, real rain, but you can pour water into the groove of the trunk circle. For 1 m2 of tree trunk circle - 3 buckets of cool water.

Advice from experienced gardeners for beginners

Often, beginning gardeners may have difficulties growing and caring for pears.

To minimize the likelihood of such problems occurring, experienced gardeners recommend following a few simple tips:

  • when watering, it is better to “underwater” the plant rather than overwater it, since stagnation of water in the soil can provoke rotting of the root system, which will entail the death of the entire crop;
  • if there is a lot of fruit falling, it is advised to set up watering schemes for the pear and add a small dose of mineral fertilizers to the soil, which can strengthen the tree;
  • It is necessary to remove pears in dry, warm weather. Fruits collected in the morning, evening or during times of high humidity are poorly preserved;
  • For long-term preservation, fruits should be stored in wooden or plastic boxes in several layers, each layer covered with sawdust or straw. The optimal conditions for storing fruit are considered to be a temperature of 0...+3 ° C and a relative humidity of 80-85%.

The Sverdlovchanka pear has a number of key advantages, thanks to which it is loved by many domestic gardeners. It is distinguished by its stable and strong immunity, rarely succumbs to diseases and pest attacks, bears fruit well, does not require special growing conditions, and is quite simple and unpretentious to care for.

Watering

Watering in different seasons has its own characteristics:

  1. In the autumn period, it is necessary to water the heather cob, add fertilizer to remove phosphorus and potassium. This will help young trees gain energy to successfully survive the winter. In the spring, water the pear 2-3 times.
  2. A pear tree will need watering 2-3 times. The first watering is applied to the ear of the linden tree, the next watering is closer to the middle of the linden tree, the final watering is at the end of the linden tree. During the hour of dryness, you can water it in the first half of the sickle. Good feeding works with a high amount of potassium and phosphorus.

Watering is carried out according to the feeling system, when the nozzle with split openings is positioned in a row with the tree and has a depth. After watering, fluff the soil to prevent the roots from turning sour.

Subject

Apply fertilizer to remove nitrogen (chicken afterglow, chaff) to stimulate tree growth. Stimulation is carried out before the swelling of the brunettes and after the coloring.

Trimming

It is also necessary to remember the procedure for trimming the crown of the Firefly and shortening the same growths. With a growing crown, the fruits of the tree will tend to change until their size changes.

Pruning and watering are carried out in the spring, spring and emergence:

  1. At the end of the sickle, it is necessary to cut off the wounds, dry nails and burn them. This will help protect the plants from various diseases. It is necessary to cut the same lengths by only one-third, not forgetting to remove a few pieces.
  2. In the spring it is necessary to remove all crooked, vertical, broken nails.
  3. There is no need to trim the crown. Blame - if you have a supernatural thickening, you can get rid of curds.

It is important to remember that in winter, pear trees can be damaged by mice and other rodents. To make it unique, wrap the stovbur in fine fabric and decorate it with rosemary. Then the stovburs are covered with earth and snow. Strong compaction must be avoided.

  2. Fruit mites feed on tree sap, which leads to disruption of the water balance, increased photosynthesis and premature leaf fall.
  3. Fruit beetles actively devour the fruits of pear crops and lay eggs on them.
  4. Hawthorn - knows all the ties and buds, leaving behind only their bare nails.
  5. The common pear honey is a sucker that sucks the juice from the leaves of a tree, after which the stench curls and falls off. The trees are weakening and bearing fruit poorly.
  6. Miles and aphids are mischief makers, and in a short time they will destroy the pear tree, attacking the young leaves. They can eat the fruit.
