The best varieties of pink tomatoes - rating from readers of Ogorod.ru (reviews and photos)

Pink varieties of tomatoes are considered especially valuable among gardeners. In addition to great taste and thin skin, these tomatoes have an optimal ratio of sugars and organic acids. Pink tomatoes are meatier and contain many useful microelements.

Moreover, their fruits are beautifully colored. Many fashionistas would like to have lipstick or blush of this color. However, nature gave them pink tomatoes to decorate the greenhouses and plots of the most stylish gardeners. Read what tomato growers say about these fruits in our material.

Pink giant

A tall, mid-season indeterminate variety that is suitable for cultivation both in a greenhouse and in open ground. The height of the bush varies from 1.5 to 2.5 m, depending on the growing conditions. The favorite of many gardeners is distinguished by large fruits, the average weight of which is 300-400 g, but with good agricultural technology it can reach up to 700 g. The harvest from one bush is 3-4 kg. Ripening period is 115-125 days from the moment of germination. The fruits are suitable for salads and vegetable slicing, and also make excellent tomato paste.

According to reviews from our tomato grower readers who grew this variety, it is worth giving it a place in the garden bed or greenhouse:

“Very large and tasty tomatoes! I grew this variety both in the greenhouse and outside.”

“Pink giant is my favorite salad variety... For 27 years I have planted many different tomatoes, but nothing compares to this variety.”

“One of my favorite varieties. The most delicious tomatoes for me. It grows in my greenhouse, the plant is powerful, I form it into two stems, tie it well several times with strong nylon twine, because... The fruits are heavy and the branches are thick. The harvest ripens on the bush. The distances between bushes are 50-70 cm.”

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

Despite the recent appearance of the variety, Pink Tsar tomatoes have managed to spread to many subsidiary farms. They produce large and quite tasty fruits that can retain their quality and presentation for a long time.

Tomatoes of the Pink Tsar variety have time to ripen right on the bush

pros

  • pleasant taste, juiciness;
  • good keeping quality and transportability;
  • attractive presentation;
  • the fruits are quite large;
  • tomatoes have time to ripen on the bush.

Minuses

  • main purpose – table, less suitable for pickling;
  • the need for gartering and pinching;
  • average (but quite acceptable) yields.

Pink honey

A mid-season variety that feels great both in greenhouse conditions and in open ground. A plant with a small number of leaves, bush height – up to 1 m. Fruit ripening period – 111-115 days. One of the features of the variety is that the fruits in the upper part of the bush are smaller (800 g) than in the lower part (1.5 kg). Productivity – up to 6 kg per plant. The fruits begin to ripen in August. They are not very suitable for canning due to their thin skin, but you will be happy to see them in a salad.

This variety also captivated tomato growers from our group on social networks, who noticed that it grows well in open ground:

“Tomatoes of the Pink Honey variety grew up to 690 g in open ground. This year I grew them both in a greenhouse and outside. The result was good everywhere, and the fruits did not crack outside, unlike some other varieties. The taste of the “greenhouse” ones was slightly inferior to the open ground. The street ones turned out tastier.”

“I grew it in a greenhouse. Great variety! Large, tasty, fleshy tomatoes with very delicate skin. I will plant. The average fruit weight is 250-300 g.”

“Last year I planted Pink Honey for the first time, on recommendation. I liked the variety: productive, large-fruited, fleshy, sweet, the fruits do not crack. There are a lot of fruits, so the bushes required additional support and garters. But overall it justifies itself. Wonderful variety!

Variety description: details

The Red Kingdom tomato is just beginning its journey. It was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation in 2022. At the same time, the originator and producer of the seeds, the Aelita agricultural company, had the opportunity to sell them to consumers. The tomato is zoned throughout the entire territory of the Russian Federation suitable for agriculture.

Attention! The hybrid has no analogues with the same name among pure varieties. This is a product of original selection.

The leaf of the plant is typical of a tomato, dark, small in size. The inflorescence is simple. The first is laid after the 8th leaf, then after every 2-3. The fruits are tied in clusters of 5-7 pieces. Breeders have achieved high yields: the marketable weight of tomatoes in a greenhouse, according to the annotation, is 20-22 kg/sq. m.

Stellate sturgeon

Mid-season indeterminate variety bred in Russia. The height of the bush is 1.5-1.8 m, it grows both in greenhouses and in open ground. The ripening period is 110 days from the moment of emergence. Tomatoes of this variety are large, weighing up to 1 kg, shaped like a heart, bright pink in color, and very fleshy. The fruits are suitable for making salads, juices and sauces. The peculiarity of this variety is that it is unpretentious and resistant to many tomato diseases.

The Sevruga variety also did not leave our readers indifferent:

“The best open ground tomato this year. It was led along a grid, providing shelter only from frost. Pink “hearts” sometimes grow clumsy. I collected one and a half boxes from one bush. Everyone was shocked. The taste is nothing like that. The tomato went into processing because when it ripened, bicolors were already in full swing. Keeping quality is 4+, now we are finishing it. I didn't plant it in a greenhouse. I will repeat it."

“The Sevruga tomato is large-fruited, fleshy, can weigh 400-600 g, and is very productive. Reminds me of Oxheart tomatoes.”

“Sevruga (Pudovik) heart-shaped, I say “yes!” Huge yield in open ground.”

Fidelio

An indeterminate mid-season variety, which was also bred by Russian breeders, adapting the Cuban one. The bush can reach 2 m in height; to obtain a good harvest, it requires tying the stems, shaping and pinching. The fruits are heart-shaped, but can also be flat-ribbed. Their pulp is sugary, fleshy, with a high dry matter content. The average weight of a tomato is 300-400 g. Fidelio tomatoes begin to ripen 110-115 days after the first shoots and produce from 3-3.5 to 6 kg of fruit from each bush. They make excellent juices, tomato paste, adjika and lecho.

Judging by the feedback from our readers, the Cuban guest has successfully adapted to the climate of the middle zone:

“Fidelio is my record holder; about three years ago he produced exactly one kilogram of tomato. And the earliest."

“My favorite is the early Fidelio, it hasn’t let me down for eight years now. Sweet, tender, thin skin. One drawback is that it requires very soft transportation.”

“I planted Fidelio in open ground for the first time - very tasty, sugary pulp, sweet taste.”

“I plant Fidelio every year - sweet, raspberry, large and not very tall.”

Figs pink

A tall, mid-ripening indeterminate variety, which is grown in greenhouses in the middle zone, and in open ground in the southern regions. The tomato bush is spreading, with a thick stem, up to 2.5 m high. The fruits are pear-shaped, large, weighing from 400 to 800 g, very sweet, vaguely reminiscent of figs (hence the name). They begin to ripen in 110-120 days. From one plant you can collect 6-7 kg of fruit.

Tomato growers also noted this beautiful variety:

“Pink figs are large, prolific tomatoes with thin skin. The fruits are ribbed and shaped like a pouch (bag).”

Japanese truffle pink

A tall determinate hybrid with good disease resistance, however, in the middle zone it can only be grown in greenhouses. The height of the bush can reach 1.3-1.5 m. The yield of one plant is 6-7 kg. Fruits weighing 130-200 g ripen 110-113 days after emergence. The fruits are stored well if picked unripe. Tomatoes of this variety are excellent for whole-fruit canning, vegetable slices and salads.

Our readers also noted the excellent taste of this tomato:

“One of the best varieties - yield, excellent taste, bears fruit until October. Well, very sweet! "

“The Japanese pink truffle is very sugary and not difficult to grow.”

Real reviews from land owners

The owner of a private online store from Nizhny Novgorod, Svetlana Denisova, shared her impressions of growing tomatoes in her experimental greenhouse. The woman notes: the variety copes well with unfavorable weather. Constant rains and excess moisture do not prevent it from bearing fruit normally. Tomatoes sometimes become covered with thin cracks, but this is not a problem: before ripening, the cracks are covered with new skin. The harvest will ripen together, in large clusters. Fruits until September inclusive.

Elena from the south of Belarus also noted pits and cracks on the lower fruits. She protected the harvest only from late blight. She liked all the other properties. Despite its almost 10-year history, the Pink Tsar tomato has so far collected few reviews on gardening forums. Although its qualities are quite attractive for private cultivation.
