If you grew Aventiuniai tomatoes, please write whether you liked them or not. What was the yield and taste of the fruits like under your climatic conditions? If possible, attach to the comment a photo of the entire bush as a whole or individual fruits that you grew. Thank you!

Your reviews of the Aventiuniai tomato and additions to the description will help many gardeners evaluate this variety objectively and decide whether it is worth planting or not.

This is a natural variety of tomato. Therefore, we recommend taking seeds from a ripe fruit and using them for planting in subsequent seasons.

Main characteristics

During the season, from 20 to 30 fruits can be formed on the plant. The total harvest weight from one bush is from 3 to 5 kg. Productivity per 1 sq. m. planting is about 10 kg.

The Kuum tomato variety is used primarily for greenhouse cultivation. Even in the relatively mild climate of Ukraine, it is not recommended to grow it in open ground. Despite the early ripening of the variety, this leads to a decrease in yield by almost 1.5 times.

Important! Growing outside greenhouses is justified only in even more southern regions, for example, in the Krasnodar Territory. The reason for this “behavior” of the plant is its rapid growth and an urgent need for a large amount of heat and light.

Thanks to the hard skin, the keeping quality of the fruit is considered good.

Disease resistance is average. The plant, like all tomatoes, can be attacked by various types of fungus: powdery mildew, black and gray rot. The plant is rarely affected by late blight, since the variety is early ripening. By the time of the peak of this disease, which occurs at the end of July, 90% of the bushes have time to finish bearing fruit.

Advantages and disadvantages

The plant has the following positive characteristics:

  • excellent taste;
  • large fruit;
  • early ripeness;
  • good keeping quality and transportability of the crop;
  • weather resistance.

The disadvantages of the variety include the relatively high labor intensity of care.

Important! The plant requires constant formation of the bush and the need for regular tying up of heavy branches.

In general, based on the totality of characteristics, the Kuum tomato variety can be considered successful. That is why this variety is popular among gardeners.

Description of the exotic variety

The author of the tomato is American Brad Gates. The variety first became known in 2016. But according to the State Register of the Russian Federation dated April 14, 2019, the tomato was not subject to official inspection in Russia.

The stem of the crop is wide and strong. Regardless of the growing conditions (greenhouse or open bed), the trunk length can reach 1.8 m. The leaves have a classic elongated shape and do not interfere with the ripening of tomatoes. On a simple or double cluster, 4–5 fruits are formed. The distance between nodes is small.

The photo shows that the tomatoes grow large. The lower ones are usually larger than the upper ones. Their weight is within 400 g. The unusual color of the fruit is noticeable already at the stage of incomplete ripening. Darker stripes stand out against the general green background of an unripe tomato. The table presents other important characteristics of the tomato.

Reviews

Angela, Leningrad region

Aventyuniai grew in a greenhouse, a very powerful, productive tomato. The fruits were large, there were no veins, and no spots were observed. The summer before last was very good, the harvest was great. I was afraid that I wouldn’t show myself well last year, but no, everything is fine. The taste is excellent, but only the tomato is sensitive to weather changes. Although it is stated that it is not capricious.

Svetlana, Krasnoyarsk

I grew the Aventiuniai tomato for two years, and I didn’t really like the whole season. No, the tomatoes are delicious, there are no complaints here. But there is very little on the bush, the yield is so-so. There are other pink-fruited tomatoes that are more productive.

I decided for myself that I won’t take it for the third year.

Lana, Izhevsk

Aventyuniai was praised by a friend and took several seeds from her to try. It grew in a greenhouse, is medium-sized, not particularly productive, although care may have had an effect. She put it in three barrels, perhaps it should have been in one. There were few stepchildren. The fruits have grown very large, but not so much on the bush. The taste is good, you can feel the sweetness.

Features of cultivation and care

The “Peruvian Home” variety belongs to indeterminate plants, which determines the following rules for growing seedlings in open ground:

  1. The optimal age of sprouts for planting is 55-65 days.
  2. 2 weeks before planting the seedlings in a permanent place, the room temperature is reduced to +19 degrees, and at night it can be kept around +17C.
  3. Healthy seedlings for planting should have a flower raceme of regular shape above 9-10 leaves and with a short stem.
  4. Upon completion of replanting, the plant is watered at the root with warm water.
  5. The distance between the bushes is 50 cm, and the distance between the rows should be 70 cm.
  6. A support is installed near each hole for future tying of the stem.

When the plant gets stronger and continues to grow, you need to ensure the timely removal of leaves from the lower rows in case they die or the bush develops rapidly. Watering should be done carefully so as not to dislodge the soil around the plant, but to provide moisture to the overgrown root system of the tomatoes.

Important! Tomatoes should be treated with solutions containing sulfur or copper to prevent fungal diseases.

Landing

Seeds are planted in boxes with a nutrient substrate or individual pots 55-60 days before transplanting to the site. The soil must be saturated with nutrients; for this, peat, humus, ash and some mineral fertilizers are added to it.

Seeds, soil for seedlings and dug up soil on the site are disinfected with a solution of potassium permanganate to protect against diseases. The ground is spilled with a hot solution, the seeds are soaked in barely warm water for an hour.

After two leaves, the seedlings are picked.

Useful tips for getting a high yield of tomatoes

  1. Green herbal infusions can be used as fertilizer. Not every gardener has the opportunity to feed tomatoes with manure, but weed infusions are an excellent replacement for mullein and bird droppings. In this case, you should infuse the composition for at least 5-6 days, and then water the plants, diluting the infusion with warm water.
  2. Tomatoes are watered only with settled and warm water. The optimum temperature should be between +21ºC…+23ºC. Watering with cold water in a greenhouse leads to diseases and wilting of plants.
  3. To improve productivity, plants are sprayed with various compositions: preparations Ovary, Bud, boric acid solution, iodine.
  4. It is recommended to lightly shake tomato bushes during the period of mass flowering in the morning to improve pollination.
  5. For this variety of tomatoes, pinching is a mandatory technique and should not be neglected.

  6. After the fruits on the first cluster are formed, the lower leaves of the tomatoes are carefully removed (no more than 1-2 leaves at a time).
  7. At the end of July - beginning of August, it is recommended to pinch the top of the plant and also remove all inflorescences that have not set fruit. This will allow the tomatoes to direct all their energy to the formation and ripening of the set fruits.

To prevent late blight, tomatoes are sprayed with Bordeaux mixture (1); brown spot is prevented by spraying the bushes with copper-containing preparations.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

Tomato Kuum is considered a popular variety due to its unique qualities:

  • high productivity;
  • good taste and aroma;
  • has a long shelf life of ripe fruits;
  • beautiful appearance;
  • good transportability;
  • the fruits do not crack even under unfavorable weather conditions;
  • It is possible to prepare the seed yourself.

Disadvantages of the variety:

  • the need for the formation and pinching of bushes;
  • needs gartering not only of the stems, but also of the fruits (since they are very large and can break the plant).

Why is the Aventiuniai tomato valued?

The variety became known to gardeners thanks to the famous collector, gardener and gardener with extensive experience and experience, Tamara Yashchenko. She lives in the city of Biysk, and therefore the tomatoes she offers are those that can be grown in the harsh conditions of Siberia, in regions with short summers and unstable weather.

Aventyuniai is valued for its productivity and excellent taste of the fruit. With proper and good care, this wonderful plant produces a high yield of beautiful tomatoes. Many gardeners give preference when choosing varieties to tomatoes with pink fruits. Aventyuniai suits all parameters:

  • productive;
  • delicious;
  • not particularly capricious;
  • manages to bear fruit before cold weather and late blight.

The variety is resistant to a number of diseases, and if prevention is carried out in time, there will be no diseases on the bushes. The advantage is also the large fruits of the variety, which are distinguished by high commercial qualities. The tomato is sweet, tasty, and one large fruit weighing 400 grams is enough to prepare a summer salad for the whole family. Aventyuniai is a variety, the seeds can be collected and the next year you can use your own planting material.

There are not many disadvantages, and they are all related to the peculiarities of agricultural technology:

  1. Since this variety is indeterminate, the obligatory methods of agricultural technology are supports and gartering of the bush.
  2. Requires pinching and plant formation.
  3. It is advisable to grow tomatoes in a greenhouse, since in such conditions the yields will be higher.
  4. When caring, you will need to very strictly control watering rates. Aventyuniai does not tolerate excess moisture, the fruits immediately “spread” with cracks.

Since the variety is still considered quite rare, the seeds are purchased from collectors and their cost is high. But everything is justified by excellent results.
