Seeds of rose-fruited hybrids bred in Japan appeared in Russia several years ago. Tomato Pink Impression F1 and related varieties have already found their admirers among gardeners in central Russia, Siberia and the Far East. A distinctive property of modern tomatoes is their adaptability to different climatic conditions and growing methods.

General group properties

Hybrids of the Pink series are indeterminate. Plants are characterized by increased elasticity and strength of the stem, which allows them to withstand the load from the mass of rapidly developing and ripening fruits. Hybrids differ from each other in terms of the time of yield of the first harvest, but almost all of them can be classified as early ripening. It is possible to obtain ripe fruits 70-100 days after sowing.

The marking F1 (F 1) in the name of the variety means that this is a hybrid plant obtained by crossing other tomatoes.

It will not be possible to leave the seeds of the hybrid you like for breeding, since the signs of the mother bush will not be preserved next season.

The gardener needs to buy hybrid tomato seeds every year, which is an obvious disadvantage for those who grow tomatoes from their own seeds.

In Pink series tomatoes, the growth of the main stem is not limited. The bush can reach up to 2 m in height. Despite its strength, the plant needs to be tied to a support as it grows. You need to tie it under each flower brush.

Features of fruiting hybrids

The Pink Top F1 hybrid is considered the earliest: the manufacturer’s description promises fruit ripening already 70-75 days after sowing. Ultra-early tomato is intended for growing in a greenhouse and is recommended for farmers for harvesting early vegetables.

Tomato Pink Shine F1. It is considered medium-late (at least 120 days before harvesting the fruits). The variety is suitable for cultivation in open ground and greenhouses, but in the northern regions it is recommended to cultivate only under cover, otherwise the plant does not have time to fully produce its harvest. The weight of 1 tomato is 210-215 g. Under good growing conditions, you can get up to 15 kg of product from 1 m².
Ultra early tomato Pink Delight. Ripens 70-75 days after sowing. The fruits are smooth, weighing 250 g, collected in clusters of 5-6 pieces. Suitable for open and closed ground.
Tomato Pink Moon. Universal, early ripening (about 90 days before harvest). Compared to other varieties, it is smaller-fruited and produces tomatoes weighing up to 200 g.
Along with the hybrids of the Pink series, it also produces a pink cherry variety. It does not have its own name, but meets the same characteristics as other hybrids. Cherry tomato produces long clusters of small fruits (up to 60 g), which ripen at the same time. This is convenient for farming and growing tomatoes for sale, since cherry tomatoes are often harvested with a bunch.

All Pink hybrids are characterized by high sugar content of fruits (up to 6.5-7%). Reviews from vegetable growers note the sweet dessert taste of the fruit. They are used for summer salads and gourmet snacks, and miniature cherry tomatoes can be used to decorate cocktails containing alcohol (gin, rum).

Among the advantages of the Pink group is the absence of heterogeneity in the color of the skin and pulp. Tomatoes do not have a green spot on the stalk and a light-colored core. The pink color of the skin and pulp makes them beautiful and original.

The fruits are suitable for canning as a whole. They are small, round, approximately the same in size, and therefore convenient for placing in jars. The dense consistency of the pulp and hard skin do not allow them to lose their shape during processing. Juice is usually not made from them, since its color will be pale, but tomatoes can be suitable for sauce and lecho because of their excellent taste.

Like most hybrids, it is intended for growing in a greenhouse (polycarbonate or film - it doesn’t matter), or at least in a greenhouse. When grown in open ground, it may not show the qualities inherent in the hybrid, because it requires careful care. Seeds cannot be collected from a hybrid, because plants grown from them will not repeat the parental characteristics. Pink Paradise F1 plants are indeterminate, i.e. with unlimited growth, up to 2 meters high, the stem is powerful, well leafy. The tomato needs a garter. They grow in one stem, sometimes in two. When grown in two stems, fruiting occurs 1-2 weeks later, but the yield may be higher. High-yielding hybrid – 3.9 kg/sq.m. The first cluster is tied after 6-7 pairs of leaves. But according to reviews from open ground lovers, the yield is average. The fruits are even pink in color, flat-round, medium density, fleshy, easily transportable, although they have a delicate skin, have good shelf life, and do not crack. Weight 180-200 g (according to other sources - 125-140 g), the fruits are equal in size. The tomato does not have a green spot near the stalk. The taste of the fruit is excellent, sweet. The tomato is intended for salad purposes, but can be used for preservation. The fruits ripen well even after low temperatures above zero.

Tomato has an average ripening period (100-120 days). Seeds should be sown in mid-February (can also be done in March), and planted in a greenhouse in mid-April. Conventional agricultural technology: plant seedlings according to a 40 by 50 cm pattern, start watering and feeding no earlier than a week after planting. The first fertilizer is nitrogen; during fruit setting and ripening, replace it with phosphorus-potassium fertilizer. For better fruiting, you can use succinic acid or other stimulants. The tomato sets fruit well, but for better pollination in the greenhouse it is worth moving the stems or tapping them during flowering.

The variety is resistant to the following diseases: cladosporiosis, fusarium and verticillium wilt, brown and gray leaf spot, tobacco mosaic virus and root nematode. Processing in a greenhouse is most often not required. In open ground, it is necessary to treat with a systemic fungicide against late blight in July during rainy weather. After that, at least one more time in two weeks. If the weather is rainy all summer, treatments should be repeated every two weeks and stopped two weeks before the first harvest.

How to grow tomato seedlings yourself

Pink Bush F1 tomatoes are propagated using the seedling method. The process requires a special approach. In open areas, the variety is grown exclusively in the southern and southeastern regions. In the northern regions, the variety bears fruit well only in greenhouses.

Sowing is carried out 50 days before the intended planting in a permanent place:

The soil

10 kg of humus or liquid mullein;

Seed preparation

The seeds of the Pink Bush F1 variety do not need additional disinfection - the manufacturer has already taken care of this. If desired, you can place the seed material for 30 minutes before planting in the root solution.

Sowing seeds

Before sowing, moisten the soil with a spray bottle. In common boxes, grooves are made 5 mm deep at a distance of 5 cm from each other. The seeds are placed in the recesses, observing a step of 4–5 cm.

Place 2-3 seeds in separate containers. When sprouts appear, the weaker ones are removed. When planting in peat or coconut tablets, they are pre-soaked in warm water. When the tablet swells, the seeds are placed in the recess, which is located in the central part, and sprinkled with peat (coconut fibers) on top. Then the tablets are placed in cassettes or electric propagators, which are containers with a transparent lid and automatic heating.

Seedling care

Until the first shoots appear, seedlings are kept in semi-dark rooms at a temperature of +25 °C. Soil moisture is maintained by spraying within 80%.

When the sprouts appear, the cover is removed and the seedlings are moved to a well-lit room. The temperature is reduced to +20 °C. Daylight for seedlings should last at least 10 hours. To do this, you can use LED backlighting. Picking is done when 2 full leaves appear. When grown in peat containers, the picking procedure is not carried out.

When 2–3 leaves appear, the plants begin to be fed with universal fertilizers for tomatoes. The second feeding is carried out 2 weeks after the first. Watering is carried out on demand. Soil moisture is maintained between 60–80%.

Hardening of seedlings

20–30 days before transplanting into the ground, seedlings begin to harden. The period falls in early or mid-April, depending on planting dates. The procedure allows you to increase the resistance of plants to the influence of negative external factors and speed up adaptation to a new place.

Features of cultivation

Growing Pink Paradise tomatoes begins with sowing seedlings. This is best done in early March. The soil should be nutritious and light; the preferred option is a mixture of turf or garden soil with humus.

Important: The seeds do not need to be disinfected, but for better germination it is recommended to soak them for 10-12 hours with a growth stimulator.

The seeds are sown at a depth of 1.5 cm and covered with film. Germination occurs at a stable temperature of 25 degrees.
