general characteristics

Button tomatoes are mid-early and have limited growth (super-determinate bush). The variety is hardy, tolerates temperature changes well, and is unpretentious in cultivation. It can be planted in open ground, hotbeds, greenhouses, or grown at home - on a balcony or windowsill.

External description

Fruit

Button tomatoes are miniature (1-3 cm), weight ranges from 20 to 25 g.

ripen gradually. They have a bright red color and resemble cherries or red currants in appearance. The fruits are fragrant and juicy. They taste sweet, the flesh is dense in structure, and contains the optimal amount of acid.

Due to their density, they can easily be transported over long distances. In a cool, ventilated area, the shelf life is 14 days.

Bush

Description of the bush:

  • grows oval in shape;
  • reaches a height of up to 70 cm;
  • the stem is strong and stable;
  • shoots grow upward;
  • leaves are rich green, slightly elongated;
  • produces many stepsons that quickly form a thick ovary and bear fruit;
  • At the moment of fruiting, 12-25 tomatoes ripen on a bunch; the number of bunches on 1 shoot can reach up to 4 pieces.

Due to its relatively small growth, the bush does not require additional tying of the stem to the support.

Productivity

Button is classified as an early ripening variety. Its growing season from the date of sowing to harvesting the fruits is 3 months. Productivity is estimated by the number of brushes on the shoot (if there are 4 pieces, we can talk about good fruiting indicators).

Harvesting takes place in the second half of July - early August. If cultivation was carried out competently, following all recommendations, from 1 bush, both in the garden and at home, you can harvest from 1.5 to 4 kg.

Disease resistance

Tomato is disease resistant

The variety has increased resistance to almost all diseases. This is due to its rapid growth rate and early maturity.

Tomatoes simply do not have time to become infected with various diseases, including late blight, while growing in the ground. And if grown at home, the plant is protected from pest invasion and infection through the soil.

Advice: for preventive purposes, once during the entire growing period, treat tomatoes of the Button variety with special products against pests and diseases.

Use of fruits

Due to its appearance and taste, a small neat tomato:

  • will decorate any dish of fish, meat, poultry;
  • It will look organic in salads whole or cut into 2-4 parts;
  • when preserved it is not only tasty, but also looks nice in the jar.

Buttons are also consumed fresh, as a dietary product for children and adults.

Characteristics of the bush

The height of the bush reaches 65 cm. The bush is strong, stable, the leaves are bright, green, slightly elongated.
Attaching the trunk to a vertical support is not necessary. It produces a large number of stepchildren, which quickly form an ovary and bear fruit. The “Button” tomato bunch is simple, consists of 12-15 tomatoes, the diameter of which is 1.5-3 cm. The tomatoes in the bunch ripen gradually, not together. In total, 3-4 bunches of tomatoes can grow on one stem. The weight of one tomato is about 20-25 grams. Button tomatoes are early ripening varieties. The growing season is approximately 90 days. The yield of this variety reaches 3-4 kg of tomatoes per bush with good care.

Characteristics of the Button variety

The Button tomato is highly resistant to sudden changes in air temperature, does not require special care and has good yield for cherry tomatoes.

Productivity

The fruits on the Button tomato bushes ripen gradually. First, tomatoes ripen on the central stem, then ovaries begin to appear on the side shoots.

As a result, up to 4 kg of ripe, tasty fruits are collected from each square of area. And from each tomato you can remove up to a kilogram of ripe produce over the summer period.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

  • You can cultivate the “Button” variety all year round by growing tomatoes on a windowsill at home;
  • Decorative effect of bushes and fruits;
  • Good fruit taste;
  • Productivity;
  • Precocity;
  • Resistance to temperature fluctuations;
  • Shade tolerance.
  • The Button variety has virtually no drawbacks, however, it can be noted that the variety is extremely sensitive to poor soil. To grow a good harvest, these tomatoes need to be frequently fed, fertilized and watered, while maintaining and not exceeding the norm.

    In general, the characteristics of tomatoes of this variety are positive. But, like any plant, they have both advantages and disadvantages.

    The advantages include:

  • possibility of year-round cultivation at home or in greenhouse conditions;
  • attractive decorative appearance of tomatoes and bushes;
  • wonderful taste, pleasant aroma;
  • short ripening period;
  • good fruiting rates;
  • endurance, resistance to temperature changes;
  • increased level of shade tolerance.

A disadvantage of Button is its increased sensitivity to depleted soil. To get a good harvest you need:

  • regularly feed the plant and apply sufficient fertilizer;
  • water well.

However, with excessive moisture or too much fertilizing, yields drop sharply. Therefore, it is important to follow the recommended standards.

Tomato Button characteristics and description of the variety

Button tomatoes grow on small bushes 60-70 cm high. The trunk of the bush is quite stable and strong. The branches grow upward, forming an oval shape. The leaves are elongated, juicy green.

The tomato bush produces several stepsons, on which a thick ovary is formed. Thanks to this, 12-15 tomatoes can ripen on each branch. The fruits themselves are small, their weight is 10-15 g; in rare cases, tomatoes weigh 20-25 g. Ripe tomatoes are elastic and bright red in color, aromatic, the taste is pleasant, sweet, the skin is thin.

How to estimate the yield of the Button tomato? Each stem grows 3-4 clusters with fruits. On average, up to 1 kg of tomatoes are harvested from one bush. But with the right choice of planting site and quality care, you can collect from 1.5 to 3 kg per bush. It does not matter whether you plant plants in the garden, at home on the balcony or on the windowsill.

This variety is considered early ripening, since the first harvest is harvested already 90-95 days after germination.

Features of cultivation

Depending on the intended planting location (in the ground or at home, on a windowsill), there are some features of planting tomatoes of this variety.

Planting in the garden must be done in stages.

  1. Sowing seeds. For further cultivation of seedlings from seeds, it is necessary to sow them quite early - in March. When the first true leaves appear on the sprouted seedlings, you can pick.
  2. Fertilizing the soil. Before planting seedlings in the ground, the soil for tomatoes must be fertilized.
  3. Transplanting. Formed seedlings should be transplanted into beds in early June. For those who planted seedlings under film, transfer to the ground can be done even earlier - in May. Seedlings are considered ready for planting if they have at least 5-6 leaves.

Plants need sunlight

Despite the increased level of shade tolerance, miniature tomatoes adore sunlight. In this regard, it is better to make beds in well-lit areas of the garden.

According to the description of the Button variety, many people grow these tomatoes in a private home or even in an apartment. Cultivated in pots.

To get a good harvest, you need to take into account some nuances.

  1. Sowing seeds. Place 2 seeds in each sowing cup or peat pot.
  2. Choosing a pot and preparing the soil for planting seedlings. In order for cultivation to bring positive results, it is important to select a pot of the required volume and fill it with the prepared mixture. The optimal pot is 3 to 4 liters. A drainage is installed at its bottom, on top of which soil purchased from a specialized store is poured or a self-prepared mixture consisting of 3 parts earth, 2 parts humus, ½ part wood ash, 10 g urea, 10 g potassium salt. You can lighten the mixture by adding clean river sand to it.
  3. Transplanting seedlings. The seedlings are transplanted into the pot when they reach a height of approximately 15 cm. Fully formed leaves should appear on it - from 2 to 4 pieces.

After planting tomatoes, you need to water them at the root with settled water at room temperature. Do not overwater the plants as this may cause them to rot.

When growing the Button variety tomato as a home potted plant, seeds can be sown at any time of the year. The main condition for successful cultivation is the organization of good lighting.

The variety is quite easy to grow and unpretentious. When planting in open ground, care consists of:

  • timely watering (once every 7-10 days is enough);
  • regular fertilization;
  • loosening the top layer of soil in order to supply it with oxygen.

Plants growing in pots are watered as the top layer of the soil mixture dries. They need enough daylight. If this is not enough, you can use a halogen lamp or phytolamp for additional illumination. Pots must be unwrapped every day.

The advantage of the Button variety is that it can be grown at any time of the year at home on a windowsill or balcony. The culture is unpretentious and resistant to temperature changes. The characteristics of the Button variety are positive, but there is still one drawback.

For good growth and development, this plant requires a lot of fertilizers and regular feeding. Tomatoes require constant watering, but you need to know when to stop everything; the difficulty in growing is that if you overfeed or heavily moisten the soil, this will affect the yield.

Otherwise, this type of tomato does not bring much trouble to grow. The main thing is to follow the rules and recommendations for care:

  1. Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out in March. As soon as 2 leaves appear on the sprouts, the seedlings can be picked.
  2. You can plant it in open ground in June. If the seedlings are under film, then planting can be done in May. The seedlings are ready for planting in the ground 60-65 days from the date of sowing. At least 5-6 leaves should appear on the sprout. Anyone who has planted decorative varieties of tomatoes knows that the distance between bushes can be reduced to 40-50 cm. Before planting, the soil must be fertilized with complex fertilizers.
  3. Thereafter, care is carried out as usual. The plant must be watered once every 7-10 days, periodically add fertilizer to the soil and loosen the top layer of soil to enrich it with oxygen.
  4. The variety is resistant to many diseases. It grows and ripens quite quickly. To prevent diseases, it is enough to treat the bushes once.
  5. The harvest is harvested in mid-July-early August.

Care

The variety is quite easy to grow and unpretentious. When planting in open ground, care consists of:

  • timely watering (once every 7-10 days is enough);
  • regular fertilization;

Negative reviews

Still enjoyed growing it.

The variety does not match the description on the package. The bush is huge, the tomatoes are smaller than a penny.

I had great hopes for it for growing on the balcony. In fact, it can grow up to 2 meters if it is not limited, and in all directions. I picked off leaves and branches 2 times a week. The bush can take up the floor of the balcony. The tomatoes themselves are the size of a 10 kopeck coin (the largest) or smaller. Very thick skin, neither I nor my relatives liked it.

I’ve been filming a video all summer from germination to harvest, so you can watch it. The “Ladybug” variety from Aelita also appears there. Which also produced some crazy bushes. But he's still better.

In the photo with the coin you can see tomatoes from the August harvest, that is, these are not the first. The first ones are the size of a 50-kopeck coin.

The picture on the package was simply taken from some photo bank and has nothing to do with what is growing.

Next year I will plant larger tomatoes.

Only fast germination and growth

No fruit was expected

Good afternoon, dear readers of the review!

I continue to write about my planting experiments at home

decorative varieties of tomatoes, this year I planted two varieties at the same time.

The first of these is the “Button” tomato, producer Aelita declares that it is early ripening

decorative and very tasty variety, suitable for growing in pots.

The seeds are small, all four of those planted sprouted. Planting was on 03/16/17, after a couple of weeks the plant

Unlike the second Bonsai variety, the button is different in size

But that was all over, the plant grew all over the window,

the flowers appeared and withered, we never saw any fruit,

This is already the second unsuccessful planting of ornamental tomatoes.

I'm only happy with one variety; it's been growing for several years now, and that's the only one I'll stick with.

We grow seedlings

You should start sowing seeds in March. Before this, you need to complete a number of points described below.

Seed preparation

Choose the largest ones, they have more nutrients, so the plants will grow stronger and healthier from such seeds.

If the seeds were stored in a cold room, they need to be warmed up. Just put them in fabric bags and keep them on the battery for 2-3 days.

Before planting, it is recommended to disinfect the seeds by soaking them for 15-20 minutes in a 1% solution of potassium permanganate. This way you will get rid of diseases that live on the surface of the seeds.

To increase yield, you can soak the seeds in a nutrient solution the day before planting. These can be the drugs "Epin", "Immunocytophyte" or aloe juice.

Soil preparation

If you plan to buy soil for seedlings, choose peat soil. If you plan to prepare the soil yourself, take loamy soil and add a little humus, peat or sawdust to loosen the soil.

Choosing a container for seedlings

For this variety, the best choice is seedling boxes. In them you can care for all the sprouts at the same time and move the container to the right place without any problems.

Sowing seedlings

In slightly wet soil, make 1 cm indentations at a distance of 5 cm from each other. Place the seeds in the indentations and then cover the box with film. Place the containers in a room with a temperature of 25 degrees. And in a week, expect the first shoots.

Growing and caring for seedlings

After the seeds germinate, move the boxes to a well-lit room and maintain a temperature of +14 to +16 degrees . If you do not have a room suitable for lighting, illuminate the sprouts with lamps. After a week, you can raise the temperature to +20 degrees. At night, open the window for micro-ventilation, but there should be no drafts.

Until the leaves appear, it is enough to spray the ground with water. With the appearance of the first leaves, you need to water the seedlings once a week, then watering is increased to 2 times a week. For watering, use water at room temperature.

How to grow tomatoes at home

In order for Button tomatoes to grow on your windowsill at home and begin to produce a harvest, you need to take into account some of the features of growing tomatoes at home.

  • Sowing seeds is carried out taking into account how many bushes you want to plant at home. 1-3 tomato bushes will fit on one sunny windowsill. Therefore, if you need 2-3 bushes, then you need 4-6 seeds, two seeds in each sowing cup.
  • Planting in a pot is done when the seedlings are 5 cm high and have 2-4 true leaves. The volume of the pot is approximately 3-4 liters.
  • A pot for planting tomatoes is filled with purchased soil or a mixture of soil from the site, humus, and wood ash in proportions of 3: 2: 0.5. Sand is added to lighten the soil. You can also add 10 grams of urea and potassium salt here. Drainage is arranged in the pot, soil is poured into it and the plant is planted.
  • Watering the seedlings is carried out with settled water at room temperature at the root, as the top layer of soil dries. Don't flood! Frequent and abundant watering can ruin the plant.

Plants on the windowsill in winter must be illuminated with a fluorescent lamp or phytolamp. You also need to unwrap the pots every day.

If you are not a fan of large tomatoes, then you will definitely like the Button tomato variety. The fruits of these tomatoes are very small, neat and at the same time very tasty. Children will surely like them. Decorating snacks, meat or fish with them is a pleasure. Button tomatoes add an interesting taste and sophisticated appearance to salads.

In addition, miniature bushes of this variety will perfectly decorate your windowsill or balcony. Thanks to their bright green foliage, they create a feeling of coziness and freshness.

Button tomatoes grow on small bushes 60-70 cm high. The trunk of the bush is quite stable and strong. The branches grow upward, forming an oval shape. The leaves are elongated, juicy green.

Growing Buttons is not troublesome, but there are several requirements, without which you will not be able to reap a good harvest:

  • This type of tomato needs to be watered regularly and abundantly.
  • It will require a lot of fertilizer and daily feeding.

In all other respects, follow the standard rules.

After 6-7 leaves appear on the sprouts, they can be transplanted into the ground.

  • if you planted seedlings in March, carry out picking in early June;
  • plant plants at a distance of 45-50 cm from each other;
  • Before planting, be sure to fertilize the soil well.

If you follow these steps, then to get a good harvest, all that remains is to regularly water the plants (once a week), weed out weeds, and loosen the top layer of soil to provide access to oxygen. Small button bushes do not need a garter.

You can transplant seedlings into pots a little earlier than into the ground. The sprout should be approximately 5 cm tall and have 3-4 leaves. For replanting, use 3-liter pots.

To plant tomatoes at home, use a special mixture that is sold in gardening stores. It consists of earth, humus and wood ash. You can also add 10 g of urea and potassium salt.

Remember that watering too frequently can harm the plant. Water the tomatoes 1-2 times a week, but do not let the soil dry out.

Plants planted in beds do not need to be sprayed, as they do not like moisture on the leaves in cool weather. But at home, where the humidity is much lower and the temperature is higher, you can spray the bushes. But don't do this during the flowering period.

If you plant this variety of tomatoes at home on a balcony or windowsill, then they receive less light, so it is recommended to illuminate them with a regular or phyto-lamp. And don't forget to unwrap the pots daily.

Button tomatoes are resistant to many diseases. With proper care they grow quickly. And yet, as a preventative measure, treat all bushes once.

The first harvest is harvested in mid-July - early August. You can simply please yourself and your loved ones with small, juicy, tasty tomatoes. You can decorate elegant appetizers and main courses with them, use them in salads and preserves.

From everything that has been said about this variety, we can conclude that breeding Buttons is possible throughout the year. Plants tolerate minor temperature changes well. The main thing is not to let the thermometer drop below 18 degrees.

Button is ideal for home growing. Small neat bushes will fit perfectly on your windowsill or balcony.

This variety is considered early ripening. From the time the seeds are planted to the harvest, an average of 90 days pass.

This variety has practically no disadvantages, the only caveat is that the plant needs high-quality soil. To get a good harvest, you will need to feed the plants and fertilize them.

Button tomatoes are in demand among farmers and have extremely positive reviews. They are planted because the variety is hardy, disease-resistant and relatively unpretentious. Gives a good harvest with a variety of uses.

“Whoever loves Cherry tomatoes, I advise you to definitely try tomatoes under the cute name Button. Tiny tomatoes weighing less than 20 g ripen thickly on the bushes and decorate the beds with their unusual appearance. Restaurants love these small tomatoes - you can arrange your own supply of them. They look great in jars - I speak from experience, jars of canned tomatoes are very beautiful!”

“The Button tomato variety is characterized by its small size, both of the bush itself (up to 60 centimeters) and of the fruit. It does not require garter, and can be grown both in open ground and in pots on the balcony. Tomato fruits are quite small, weighing only 10-15 g. They have a round shape and a rich red color after ripening. The fruits can be eaten raw and canned; they are especially good for decorating dishes.

The variety does not require any special methods of growing and cultivating. The approximate age for planting seedlings in the ground is 60 days and occurs in the month of May, first planting in a greenhouse, and then in open ground. But the yield of this variety is not very high, on average 1 kg per bush.”

“I always wanted to try to grow baby tomatoes so that they would look beautiful on the bush and look original in a salad, but somehow I never got around to it. And that year I got ready and planted a Button tomato. Let me clarify right away that I planted the tomatoes not in a greenhouse, but in a pot on the windowsill. I made a mistake when planting; I planted it early, in mid-February.

The Button variety is excellent for growing on site and in an ordinary city apartment. For your efforts, you will receive not only incredibly tasty and aromatic fruits, but also decorative bushes that will create the feeling of a home greenhouse. At the same time, there are practically no difficulties in growing, the variety is unpretentious, resistant to temperature changes, hardy and has a high yield.

Planting and further care

It is recommended to grow this tomato in seedlings and then transplant it to a permanent place. Seed material should be planted for seedlings in mid-March - approximately 56-58 days before transplanting to beds or a greenhouse.

Gardener's sowing calendar for 2022

When the seeds germinate, the containers with the seedlings are moved to a bright place and the watering regime is observed. In this case, you need to ensure that the soil is moist, but there is no stagnation of moisture.

During the growing period, seedlings are fed twice - the first time a couple of weeks after picking, and the second time a couple of weeks before planting the seedlings in a permanent place. Preparations containing nitrogen should be used as fertilizer so that the seedlings actively begin to grow.

What is the best way to feed seedlings

Picking is carried out when several true leaves appear on the plants. In this case, the plants are transplanted into separate pots, preferably into peat ones, then the adult seedlings can be planted in a permanent place along with the container, which will gradually decompose in the soil and serve as additional fertilizer.

to plant tomato seedlings correctly

Before transplanting seedlings, the soil in the beds should be prepared: remove any remaining vegetation, add humus or compost and mineral fertilizers, then dig.

By the time of transplantation, adult seedlings should have at least 6-7 true leaves.

Further care of the transplanted seedlings consists of constant watering, fertilizing, as well as loosening the soil and removing weeds.

Since this tomato variety is very sensitive to soil moisture and fertility, monitoring soil conditions is very important.

Watering is carried out regularly - 2-3 times a week. During periods of drought, the amount of watering should be increased, and during the rainy season - reduced. Water for irrigation should be warm and settled; moisture should be applied strictly at the root so that it does not fall on the foliage and stems of tomato bushes. It is better to water these vegetable plants early in the morning or in the evening.

Fertilizing is carried out throughout the growing season. After the seedlings are transplanted, they must acclimatize within 12-14 days. Then you can carry out the first fertilizing with nitroammophos or other preparations containing nitrogen. From the moment the Button tomato begins to flower, it needs potassium and phosphorus, so further fertilizing should include superphosphate and potassium sulfate.

After watering and rain, it is necessary to loosen the soil in the root zone in order to break up the dry crust that forms on the surface.

At the same time, it is necessary to remove all vegetation along with the roots, since harmful insects can hide in it, which can cause enormous damage to cultivated plants.

Tomatoes begin to ripen from the second half of July to the second half of August.

It is also important to regularly collect all ripe tomatoes so that other fruits ripen more actively.

Neutral reviews

This variety of tomatoes belongs to the small-fruited tomatoes of early ripening. The diameter of the fruit is from 1 to 3 cm. The bush is low to 0.6-0.7 m. Reviews are somewhat contradictory. The fact is that agricultural cultivation technology is very important. These tomatoes grow best in a sunny, well-warmed place, such as a loggia or balcony. Then they turn out very sweet and have a thin skin.

A cluster can bear up to 15 fruits, which ripen gradually. It takes approximately 90 days from sowing seeds to fruiting. These tomatoes are called inch tomatoes because of their small size. Children especially love them; they are also good for salads and just fresh for one bite. If you preserve them, you get spectacular pickles; you can combine them with gherkins and cucumbers. Usually many such bushes are not planted; 3-5 are quite enough for a family.

It does not require garter, and can be grown both in open ground and in pots on the balcony.

The fruits of this tomato are quite small, weighing only 10-15 grams. They have a round shape and a deep red color when ripe. The fruits can be eaten raw or preserved; they are especially good for decorating dishes.

This variety of tomato does not require any special methods of growing and cultivating. The approximate age for planting seedlings in the ground is 60 days and occurs in the month of May, first planting in a greenhouse, and then in open ground.

But the yield of this variety is not very high, on average 1 kilogram per bush.

suitable for decoration

taste and size

Due to the fact that I really like small tomatoes, first of all for their external characteristics, and secondly for their taste, I decided to try growing them in the garden.

The seedlings have sprung up. Planted it in a greenhouse. I was surprised at the height of the bush that had grown. I don't think I would grow this in a pot. The stems are very thick and tall.

There were a lot of tomatoes on the bush, but personally I didn’t like the size and taste. They are very small. I didn’t like the taste either: more sour than sweet.

I tried them salted and frozen. When pickled, tomatoes look very good, but there is not enough pulp and a lot of peel. I won't salt these anymore. I froze some of the buttons - it’s very convenient to add to winter dishes, for example, when stewing.

This year I'm going to grow cherry tomatoes, which are larger and possibly sweeter.

general information

Tomato Button

According to the instructions for use, this crop can be grown even in an apartment (a window sill, loggia or balcony is quite suitable for these purposes). And, of course, the Button variety of tomatoes develops well in a personal plot or vegetable garden (both in greenhouses and in covered greenhouses or in the ground).

Regarding the history of the appearance of this tomato, the following should be noted. Researchers believe that the variety of wild cherry tomatoes has been growing in the Andes for centuries, and only by 700 AD. e. its cultivation was mastered by the Aztecs and the Incas, who lived in Mexico at that time.

It is still not possible to establish exactly who brought the variety of small tomatoes to Europe (it is assumed that Columbus could have done this). One of the earliest mentions of the “cherry” variety dates back to 1623, after the publication of the treatise “Pinax Theatri Botanici”. Since then, information about cherry tomatoes has begun to appear in periodicals with enviable consistency.

Tomatoes grow well both in a pot and in the ground

Positive reviews

Very tasty, look beautiful.

I always wanted to try to grow baby tomatoes so that they would look beautiful on the bush and look original in a salad, but somehow I never got around to it. And that year I got ready and planted a Button tomato. Let me clarify right away that I planted the tomatoes not in a greenhouse, but in a pot on the windowsill. I made a mistake when planting; I planted it early, in mid-February.

Therefore, at the beginning the seedlings were weak and stretched out a lot, but after I began to feed the seedlings they grew a little stronger and acquired a quite decent appearance. Despite the fact that I planted the tomatoes in pots, the harvest was a success. my bushes. as in the picture, they were all strewn with small tomatoes, very sweet in taste, which ripened right on the vine.

Beauty, I always wanted to pick a tomato and put it in my mouth. I wasn’t the only one who had this desire. but also for the whole family, as well as for guests. Therefore, I was not able to preserve them, and I cannot say anything about how they behave when preserved. But I really liked them fresh; I’ll plant them again this year.

I will only plant in March so that the seedlings do not outgrow. I also really liked that the plant is fluffy, about 60 centimeters high. They also taught me. that if you plant Button at home, then after harvesting. Don't throw away the bush. but you just need to feed it and the plant will delight you with new side shoots that will yield a harvest. I'll definitely try it this year.

Today I will tell you about a miracle that grew in my garden completely by accident. Why by chance? I bought seedlings at the market and came across a few of these.

At first, in seedlings, they were no different from ordinary tomatoes. But when some began to grow, while others began to grow more slowly and the leaves remained miniature, I immediately guessed that it was not a matter of disease, since I had previously seen such tomatoes in a friend’s pot in the kitchen.

There were quite a lot of fruits. They were all arranged in clusters. But they are so miniature that you feel like you are in a fairy-tale kingdom of miniatures. The size in relation to a tea cup and handle is as follows.

As you can see, the bunch ripens unevenly. Those berries that are taller are a little larger and already ripe. I picked the bunches and laid them down, the stem dries up and the berries gradually ripen. That is, if this plant grows in a pot, then the tomatoes can be picked gradually.

A cross-section of a tomato shows that it replicates in miniature the entire structure of an ordinary tomato. Ripe tomatoes taste sweetish, green and sour. The skin is thin and not tough.

Where and how to use these tomatoes is up to you. Can be in a salad. Maybe just whole ones. Fortunately, there is no need to cut and there is no need to bite. Whole in the mouth.

This plant will delight your eye in winter with its beauty and useful vitamins. As far as I know, this plant does not require much effort. I advise you to try it.

early ripening, beautiful, tasty

I have been planting tomatoes on loggias for many years. Usually the seedlings are given to me by a friend who prepares them for the garden. But last year I bought “Button” tomato seeds, the picture on the bag seemed so attractive, and for the first time I sowed them myself. The tomatoes were a real decoration of the loggia; these bright bunches on my 6th floor were clearly visible even from the street.

This year, as soon as I saw Button seeds in Perekrestok, I bought them without hesitation. I sowed it on March 20, as indicated on the bag. But for some reason they did not sprout for a very long time, although they stood near a hot radiator under the film. I've already said goodbye to the idea of growing them this year. But suddenly, about a month later, they sprouted together and grew so plump and pretty. I think I won’t dive, I’ll wait two weeks and immediately plant them in boxes.

I really hope that this year’s harvest will please me.

taste, decorativeness, good germination

Good day everyone, dear Otzovik readers!

If you love cherry tomatoes, plant cute little tomatoes with the cute name “Button” from Aelita.

The beds with such tomatoes are simply strewn with tiny tomatoes, the weight of which is about 30 grams, and the size is from 1 to 3 cm; bushes grow somewhere up to 50 cm.

Well suited for growing in pots and on balconies.

I really like this variety, it ripens early, is perfect for canning, these babies look so beautiful in a jar, they are good for decorating various dishes and salads, children love them very much.

As for taste, the tomatoes are tasty, sweet, aromatic.

It can be grown both in open ground and in a greenhouse. The agricultural technology is the same as for all tomatoes, I sow seeds for seedlings at home, and plant them in open ground in early May. There are many of them growing; there are up to 15 fruits on one cluster.

They like a sunny location, then they grow especially sweet, and they also like regular watering.

I didn’t grow them in pots, but in open ground they grow beautifully, don’t require staking, don’t shoot, I’ve never had any problems with them, even when other tomatoes suffered from late blight, this scourge didn’t affect them.

Seed germination is excellent.

I advise everyone to plant this variety of tomatoes.

Thank you for your attention.

Price, germination, quality of seeds, taste of tomatoes, decorativeness.

Among the many varieties of small tomatoes, my favorites, for several summer seasons now, have been the “Button” tomatoes from the manufacturer Aelita-agro.

Both adults and children love these tomatoes. You don’t have to cut them, eat them whole, they are beautiful in salads.

These tomatoes have medium skin, I wouldn’t say that they are sweet, more sour.

I grow these tomatoes in small quantities in a greenhouse in my garden.

Not for the sake of a big harvest, I just grow it to eat.

I often buy seeds; I like the good germination of the seeds and the quality of the seeds.

The seeds are sold in beautiful, bright bags. Satisfied with the price. Complies with GOST.

Seed weight is 0.05 grams.

The bag contains characteristics of the variety, recommendations for plant care, planting instructions in pictures, number of seeds, batch number, expiration date.

The Button variety is early ripening. I sow seeds for seedlings in early April in peat pots.

I plant them in the greenhouse in mid-May. During growth, I water, feed, loosen and weed.

Tomatoes ripen in July and bear fruit until the beginning of September; everything depends on the weather.

Tomatoes "Button" are a compact, low plant 30-50 cm, fruits weighing 10-15 grams. The size of a 10 ruble coin. The bush is abundantly dotted with clusters of red babies.

The tomatoes do not ripen evenly, so I cut off a branch and the tomatoes ripen at home. Button tomatoes from Aelita are not for everyone, but I give them a solid four and definitely recommend them!

Hey everyone. Since I live in a private house, I constantly garden and plant seedlings, but I always bought ready-made seedlings and planted them, and this year I was attracted to the very small and beautiful tomato seeds Aelita-agro Tomato “Button”, they were very small in the picture and beautiful. So I bought them, the seedlings appeared quite quickly, then they began to grow and tomatoes began to appear, there were a lot of them on the bush and it was incredibly beautiful, they really are as small as a button, you can find many things for these tomatoes, you can eat them, make a salad, decorate a dish or preserve it for the winter in a jar and it will be a fairy tale in winter. Now I decided to constantly plant these tomatoes, since I have small children and they love them very much.

I ordered seeds from an online store in the fall and today I finally received them. One of the packs turned out to be Button tomatoes.

I always sow this variety of tomatoes in my garden. I like their taste. These are miniature cherry tomatoes that grow on a branch with a lot of fruit.

The variety itself is early. You will have to wait 90 days from sowing to fruit. One brush can contain up to 15 tomatoes. They are all neat, very sweet. They can be eaten fresh or used for preservation. A very productive variety.

I am pleased with the seeds of these tomatoes and recommend them to all summer residents and gardeners. For a pack of 20 seeds I paid exactly 4 hryvnia. 90% of the seeds that are available and planted germinate.

not all seeds sprouted

I planted button tomatoes in 2016. The seedlings turned out great. I planted it in open ground at the end of May. At first it grew poorly, then it quickly gained strength, the harvest turned out to be excellent, but it was too small. There are a lot of tomatoes on the bush. Canning is not convenient, one bush yields only a few jars, so I had to preserve it in small jars.

An unpretentious, low-grade variety with abundant fruiting and disease resistance.

I have long wanted to plant cherry tomatoes, but I was stopped by the fact that, as a rule, these varieties are tall, up to 2-3 meters tall, as they say on the seed packets. Well, I don’t like messing around with tall tomatoes, no matter how beautiful the hanging garlands of fruit look. I'm a lazy person, I would like something lower, easier to care for. I saw Button seeds in Auchan, read them, became interested and bought them, along with the Sanka variety, about which I also wrote a review.

So, I planted the seedlings at the end of April, I was a little delayed in planting, but both varieties did not disappoint. They grew without problems, without any fertilizing, however, it should be noted that the soil on our site is excellent black soil. The button was a great success, the most abundant variety, the harvest comes in waves, you can pick a bowl of fresh ripe baby tomatoes every day.

Both fresh and canned are good. The skin is quite dense, so when canned it does not burst, as sometimes happens with other varieties. I recommend it to lovers of small-fruited tomatoes. The plant is compact, about 50 cm tall, fruiting is so abundant that despite the small size of the fruits, it needs to be tied up, otherwise they will fall to the ground, as happened with us. But despite this, the tomatoes did not get sick. That is, the variety is also resistant to diseases. I recommend.

Farmer reviews

Button tomatoes are in demand among farmers and have extremely positive reviews. They are planted because the variety is hardy, disease-resistant and relatively unpretentious. Gives a good harvest with a variety of uses.

These are the reviews gardeners give:

Tatiana:

“Whoever loves Cherry tomatoes, I advise you to definitely try tomatoes under the cute name Button. Tiny tomatoes weighing less than 20 g ripen thickly on the bushes and decorate the beds with their unusual appearance. Restaurants love these small tomatoes - you can arrange your own supply of them. They look great in jars - I speak from experience, jars of canned tomatoes are very beautiful!”

Irina:

Marina:

“I always wanted to try to grow baby tomatoes so that they would look beautiful on the bush and look original in a salad, but somehow I never got around to it. And that year I got ready and planted a Button tomato. Let me clarify right away that I planted the tomatoes not in a greenhouse, but in a pot on the windowsill. I made a mistake when planting; I planted it early, in mid-February. Therefore, at the beginning the seedlings were weak and stretched out a lot, but after I began to feed the seedlings they grew a little stronger and acquired a quite decent appearance. Despite the fact that I planted tomatoes in pots, the harvest was a success.”
