Very productive, indeterminate (unlimited growth), mid-season tomato variety for greenhouses and open ground.

A liana-shaped bush, about 2 meters high. It requires tying the plant to a support or trellis and pinching it. It is best to form it into 1-2 stems.

Basic qualities of fruits

Tomatoes have an interesting elongated shape with a forked end; it is because of this appearance of the fruit that the variety received such names as: Women's joy, Lady's whim , Fun , Adam, Men's. In different catalogues, this variety may be called by any of these names. Tomatoes grow in clusters, each cluster containing 6-8 pieces.

When ripe, the fruits are red, weigh 100-150 grams and are 12-14 cm long. The tomato pulp is dense, tasty, aromatic, with a small number of seeds. These tomatoes are universally used - great for both canning and fresh consumption, as well as drying.

Description of the tomato Lady's whim F1

Tomato Ladies' whim F1 is an early-ripening, indeterminate hybrid. From germination to harvesting the first harvest 95-100 days. The first inflorescence is laid above the 8th leaf, the subsequent ones after 2-3. On simple clusters, about 7 fruits are formed, weighing 100-120 g. The fruits are 2-chambered, elongated oval in shape with an elongated nose, bright, deep red in color. Among similar shaped tomatoes, this tomato is one of the leaders in taste, good filling of the seed chambers and wall thickness. The tomato is good for stuffing, salting and pickling.

Important! Tomato varieties Ladies' whim and Auria (Zabava, Women's joy, Adam, etc.) are presented as the same variety with different names. But these are completely different varieties. Auria was bred in Ukraine, but is not included in the State Register. Whereas Ladies' whim is the result of the work of breeders of the “Partner” agricultural company. Of course, these varieties are similar in many ways, but it is impossible to say that they are the same variety.

Planting tomato Lady's whim

Planting material of the hybrid Ladies' whim F1 must be purchased in retail chains. Self-collected seeds may not inherit all the specific properties. Annual expenses are justified by stable high yields and plant resistance to fungal diseases and rot.

For planting, choose nutritious, loose soil with good water absorption. It is recommended to add crushed sphagnum moss or vermiculite to the soil as a moisture-retaining component.

The seeds are pre-moistened and kept on a damp cloth until biting. Then they are laid out on the surface of the earth in a planting container, and a layer of soil up to 5 mm high is poured on top. Tropical conditions are created for germination: high humidity and temperatures up to +27°C. The seedlings are planted in separate pots or peat tablets after the appearance of three full leaves.

Deadlines

Planting of seedlings is carried out, as a rule, in February-March, depending on the growing region. At the same time, ready-made seedlings of Ladies' Caprice can be planted in open ground as early as April or May.

Growing seedlings

Seedlings are grown in February–March, when daylight hours are still short, so from the first weeks of growth the seedlings are illuminated with special lamps. Complex fertilizing is applied every 10–14 days along with watering. During the first months, it is recommended to spray the plants.

The seedlings are ready to be transferred to a permanent location in 45–60 days. Often by this time flower clusters and even ovaries are formed.

Before transplanting, the plants are hardened off, kept at a temperature of +10...14°C for first 2 hours, then the exposure interval is increased. After hardening, the stem becomes more powerful, acquires a bluish tint, and pubescence becomes more noticeable.

Landing in the ground

When transplanting into holes up to 30 cm deep, follow a planting pattern of 50x40 cm. When forming a plant into two stems, the distance is increased to 80 cm. The stem is laid along the inner contour of the hole, covered with soil up to the leaves. Moisturize well and compact so that there are no voids at the roots. For quick adaptation, watering with “Kornevin” or fertilizing “Krepysh” is recommended. Stimulating the growth of the root system.

Features of cultivation, planting and care

We recommend sowing seeds for seedlings 60-65 days before the intended planting in the ground. Seedlings dive at the stage of two true leaves. When transplanting seedlings to a permanent place, 1 sq. It is recommended to place up to 4 plants per meter of land. Planting pattern 50 x 40 cm.

Further care for tomatoes consists of timely watering, pinching, weed removal, fertilizing with complex mineral fertilizer and preventive measures to protect plants from diseases and pests.

When growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, we recommend installing a drip irrigation system - this will save your time and effort, as well as increase plant productivity and reduce the risk of late blight.

Tomato care Ladies whim

Hybrid tomatoes lady's whim are not afraid of cool nights, late blight and spotting. Further care consists of timely watering and regular pinching. Fertilizing is done no more than twice a month; if the bush is growing well, the amount of fertilizer is reduced. When drip irrigation is organized, the risk of root rot in cool weather is reduced.

The liana-like bush forms flower clusters until cold weather. For full fruiting, leave no more than 10. The growth point is pinched. In August, part of the foliage is removed, ensuring access of nutrients to the fruits.

For a good harvest, the soil under tomatoes must be rich in rotted organic matter. Never apply fresh manure to this crop, only humus!

Characteristics of the variety

Let's start the description of the Auria tomato with the fact that the variety was bred by Novosibirsk breeders. The culture is intended for open and closed growing methods.

Advice! For the middle zone and Siberia, it is recommended to grow Auria in greenhouses. The open method of cultivating the variety is more suitable for the southern regions.

Auria is an indeterminate tomato. The bush is a vine that can grow up to 1.8 m in height. In a greenhouse, a tomato grows more than 2 m. However, the structure of the bush is not spreading. There are few branches on the flexible tomato stem, the amount of foliage is average.

Important! In order for Auria tomatoes to produce a good harvest, the bushes need to be shaped by removing excess shoots.

The most interesting thing in the description of the Auria tomato is its fruits. The vegetable, elongated to 15 cm, with tuberous walls, has given rise to many interesting names. The weight of the fruit reaches 200 g, but the average weight of a tomato usually varies between 80–150 g.

The tomatoes are tied with a brush. Its weight can reach 0.8 kg. This weight is too much for thin shoots. To prevent them from breaking off, vegetable growers regulate the number of fruits by removing excess ovaries. The ripening period of tomatoes lasts from mid-July to September.

If you cut the Auria fruit lengthwise, you can see two seed chambers inside. The grains are small, evenly distributed throughout the fleshy pulp of the tomato. The skin of a tomato is thin, but quite dense walls are hidden underneath it.

Tomato pulp is characterized by a large amount of dry matter. Thanks to this, Auria fruits are stored for a long time, do not crack and can withstand long-term transportation. A ripe tomato turns completely red.

Without the taste of the vegetable, the characteristics and description of the Auria tomato variety will be incomplete. The fruit is more beautiful than tasty. In its fresh form, gourmets do not approve of it. The tomato pulp is slightly sweet, and when unripe it tastes fresh.

A high content of dry matter makes the fruit low in juiciness. According to reviews, the Auria tomato is more suitable for preservation. The elongated shape allows you to conveniently place the fruits in the jar. Canned tomatoes turn out tasty and whole. The dense pulp does not crack during heat treatment.

To fully characterize the Auria tomato variety, let's look at its advantages:

  • tomato is not afraid of temperature fluctuations;
  • if there is no epidemic, Auria’s resistance to diseases is high;
  • tomato variety is drought resistant;
  • high yield;
  • despite the dryness of the pulp, the good taste of tomatoes is manifested in canning;
  • The fruits are resistant to cracking, have an excellent presentation, and can withstand transportation.

The disadvantages of tomatoes include the following:

  • Auria fruits are stored well, but not for long;
  • thin stems break under the weight of the brushes;
  • The crop is demanding in the selection of fertilizers.

Another unpleasant factor is the difficulty of purchasing Auria seeds, since the variety is poorly distributed on sale.

THESE VARIETIES DID NOT FAIL

Tomatoes are my passion. I think it’s unlikely that any other culture can boast such a variety of colors, shapes and flavors of fruits. And even the same variety can, depending on the gardener’s skill and weather conditions, surprise with its capabilities.

So, a couple of years ago I added to my garden collection with varieties of tomatoes, which are popularly called “manhood”, “female happiness” (or Ladies’ whim).

From reliable, in my opinion, sources, their correct name is Auria (red, large) and Eros (yellow, also large, although somewhat smaller in size than the first). Their homeland is Israel, but they are perfectly adapted even to the conditions of central Russia.
