Description and characteristics of tomato Olya F1, reviews, photos
Early ripening , super-determinate, medium-sized tomato hybrid for open ground and greenhouses.
The period from germination to the beginning of ripening is 90-105 days. The bush is weakly leafy, weakly branched, 0.9-1.2 meters high . The leaf is short, light green. The inflorescence is simple, the structure is intermediate. The first inflorescence is laid above the 7-9 leaf, the subsequent ones - without division by a leaf or through 1 leaf, forming 3 brushes at the internodes instead of one at a time. There are 7 fruits in the hand. 12-15 brushes are formed on the bush.
The plant does not require pinching. The bush is formed by a stepson from under each group of 3 inflorescences.
Basic qualities of fruits
The fruits are round, slightly ribbed, bright red in color at maturity, weighing 120-150 grams , fleshy, excellent (for early varieties) taste. These tomatoes are universally used - suitable for both fresh consumption and canning.
Advantages of the hybrid : high productivity, cold resistance, heat tolerance, resistance to low light. Resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, fusarium, fusarium neck rot, root-knot nematode, relatively resistant to cladosporiosis.
Planting pattern: 50 x 40 cm, planting density - up to 6 plants per 1 sq. m.
Productivity : 10-15 kg/sq.m (with proper agricultural technology). was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in the Russian Federation in 1997
Originator : VNIIO, Agrofirm Ilyinichna.
Popular varieties of tomatoes from Ilyinichny
For several years, many amateur vegetable growers have been growing tomato hybrids from agro in their garden plots and are surprised to discover that these hybrids not only delight them with high yields, but also have an excellent taste, in which the tomato aroma is harmoniously combined with sweetness and slight sourness.
The hybrid Olya is very popular, which in the cold conditions of early spring (7° at night, 13-15° during the day) can set fruit, and not shed flowers, like other varieties and hybrids. As soon as the sun warms up, literally in 7-10 days, the entire plant is covered with fruits so that the leaves are not visible. And at the same time, the hybrid does not need to be stepsoned! Up to 12-15 clusters are formed on a 1.2 m plant.
No less famous are the hybrids Red Arrow, Northern Express, Boomerang, Natus, Beautiful Lady, Marquise. They are high-yielding, with very tasty fruits weighing 90-250 g, good for the table and for canning. These hybrids are relatively short and belong to the determinant group.
The taller new hybrids Harlequin, Lelya, Podmoskovny and Eunice often form clusters of 6-9 fruits across 2 leaves. Therefore, these hybrids produce 30% more fruit than other tall indeterminate hybrids, in which the clusters are located every 3 leaves. Among the newest indeterminate hybrids from agro, Admiral is considered the fastest ripening, whose fruits begin to ripen 86-89 days after germination. It is earlier than many low-growing varieties and hybrids. No less popular now in film greenhouses are the hybrids Bayadere, Vlad, and cold-resistant Alena, which do not lose a single flower, fully realizing their potential. The fruits are beautiful, tasty, weighing 120-160 g.
Many hobbyists are keen on long-stored hybrids. This is such a hybrid as Blues, Minuet and Pilgrim. Their fruits can be preserved until November or even until the New Year. Tomato hybrids from “Ilyinichna” are distinguished by excellent taste. This is noted both by the State Commission for Variety Testing and by most professional and amateur vegetable growers.
The large-fruited hybrids Favorit, Centaur, Ostrich, Titanic, whose fruits weighing from 180 to 450 grams or more have an excellent taste, enjoy particular success among vegetable growers. They are fleshy, dense, excellent red in color. Plants (except Ostrich) are relatively low, form a compact cluster with 4-5 fruits. In the Non-Black Earth Region, in the Leningrad region and in the Urals, 3-4 clusters ripen over the summer. The planting density of these hybrids is no more than 2.5-2.7 plants per 1 m2
New hybrids that have gained recognition among both professionals and amateurs over the past two years are Divo, Vasilievna, Lydia and Nasha Masha. They also belong to the group of large-fruited ones with fruits ranging from 150 to 420 g. The fruits are dense, beautiful, uniform, evenly colored, and have excellent taste.
A special group consists of charming cherry-shaped hybrids Businka, Parrot, Winter Cherry and five more hybrids that are being prepared for wide sale. These hybrids are tall, have long inflorescences, each of which bears 8 fruits. Fruits weighing 10-15 g, bright red, yellow, orange or crimson (in different hybrids), round or oval, shiny, very sweet. Among the Ilyinichna hybrids there are also decorative tomatoes that look very beautiful against the background of greenery, can be grown in open and closed ground and have fruits of various shapes - from pear-shaped to spherical - with a wide variety of colors: pink, yellow, crimson, red, orange .
All the described hybrids are original, easily distinguishable from each other, have their own characteristic characteristics and properties and are successful throughout Russia from the western borders to the Far East, Sakhalin and Kamchatka, as well as in the CIS countries and the Baltic republics. All of them are included in the State Register of Selection Achievements.
Varietal features
If we talk about the Artist tomato, then it is definitely worth noting several of the most important characteristics of the variety.

Fruit
Hybrid Artist - carpal type. This means that the ovaries are located evenly in the hand, on both sides. All tomatoes are almost identical in size, smooth, beautiful. Within one brush they are poured and ripened at the same time. It is convenient to harvest such tomatoes in whole bunches, transport them in this form and put them in storage.
One inflorescence bears from 5 to 8 fruits. The weight of each of them in the first hand can reach 200 grams, the average weight is 140 – 150 grams. This is the ideal, standard size for pickling and whole-fruit canning: the tomatoes are not too large, but not small either (they are sometimes called “medium-fruited”). However, they are good in fresh salads and in any preparations. Beneficial for market sales of fresh produce.
Tomatoes have a classic round shape, sometimes slightly ribbed. The color of unripe fruits is soft green, ripe tomatoes are bright, scarlet, without any greenery at the stalk. The skin is strong, the consistency of the pulp is dense, not watery. The most important characteristic is excellent transportability and shelf life of ripe fruits without loss of quality (at least a month after harvest).
Bush
Plants can reach one and a half meters in height and have an indeterminate (continuous) growth pattern. Hybrid Artist is recommended to be grown indoors. Any tall greenhouses are suitable - film, glass, polycarbonate, with or without heating. The bushes are formed compact; medium-sized leaves are not located perpendicular to the trunk, but at an angle, as if stretching upward.
The first cluster is formed after the growth of 9–10 leaves. Subsequently, ovaries are formed every 3 leaves. The plant is capable of feeding 7 – 8 clusters. After their formation, the top of the stem must be pinched. The one who planted the Artist f1 tomato notes that in favorable conditions, 9–10 bunches can be fully saturated.
Deadlines
When describing the Artist variety, it is characterized either as mid-season or mid-early in terms of ripening. These fluctuations are determined by the region, growing conditions, and diet. The first fruits turn red in the range of 102–115 days from germination.

The harvest continues until the end of the season, depending on the capabilities of the greenhouse (height, temperature). Unripe tomatoes are successfully ripened and then stored, which allows you to significantly extend the consumption of fresh vegetables.
Immunity
Tomatoes from Ilyinichna are famous for their genetic resistance to a number of harmful infections. All hybrids successfully resist botrytis - gray rot of stems and fruits, which is especially dangerous in humid greenhouse air. New breeding products such as the Artist are able to repel the attack of the root-knot nematode, the tobacco mosaic virus (which cannot be treated in any way).
If you plant tomatoes without observing crop rotation in the same greenhouse from year to year, then outbreaks of fungal infections are inevitable, taking away a significant portion of the crop. Even chemicals don't always save you. The hybrid variety Artist is good because it is not susceptible to fusarium wilt and brown spot (cladosporiosis). Fewer chemical treatments mean healthier vegetables, lower cash and labor costs.
Agro’s amateur tomato varieties and hybrids differ from “ordinary” amateur ones in their greater plasticity and disease resistance, which ensures stable yields under almost any growing conditions.Superdeterminate hybrids Determinate hybrids Semi-determinate hybrids Rose-fruited hybrids
The hybrids from Agro recommended for amateur vegetable growers are significantly superior in yield, early ripeness, fruit set on the first cluster and fruit quality to the varieties of the popular assortment such as De Barao
In regions with a cold climate, for the regions of Western and Eastern Siberia, the Non-Black Earth zone, the hybrids Olya, Boomerang, Favorite, which ripen in unheated film greenhouses even in the conditions of the Leningrad and Vologda regions, in the conditions of the Far North, are especially successful. For areas with a short summer period and high temperatures (Western and Eastern Siberia), we recommend large-fruited hybrids Titanic, Ostrich, DIVO, VASILIEVNA.
FOR OPEN GROUND
Superdeterminate hybrids.
Plants limit growth immediately when the first inflorescence is formed, while instead of one, 2-3 inflorescences are always formed at the same time.
A continuation shoot is formed by a stepson from under each pair or trio of inflorescences. Each brush contains 0.8 sheets. Plants require pinching until the first tassel is formed. Hybrid F1 OLYA TCFN Fr.
In State Register of the Russian Federation since 1997. For open ground, film and glazed greenhouses. Early ripening due to the simultaneous formation of 3 inflorescences-tassels instead of 1 in each location. Inflorescences (3 each) are located every 1-2 leaves. Between each other they have no more than 1 leaf in each group. Planting density is 2.8-3.5 plants. /m2. Plants are formed by a stepson from under each group of 3 inflorescences. A simple brush with 7-9 fruits, 120-150 g each. COLD-RESISTANT. Sets fruit well even at temperatures of 7-13 °C. Productivity from 9 to 27 kg/m2. Resistant to viral diseases, cladosporiosis, fusarium, root-knot nematodes. Used fresh and for canning.
