A highly productive variety with a wonderful taste - potatoes Resource: description and characteristics

Potato variety Zhukovsky early

The early-ripening variety Zhukovsky is highly resistant to scab, potato cancer and golden potato cyst nematode, moderately resistant to bacteriosis, rhizoctonia and mosaic viruses, but is susceptible to late blight. It matures in 60-65 days, and easily tolerates heat, lack of moisture and shade. Pink tubers with white pulp grow up to 120 g, and from 1 sq.m. You can collect up to 4.5 kg. Due to its early ripening and high taste, it is rarely stored; it is mainly consumed in the summer-autumn period.

Description and characteristics of the variety

Potato Resurs is part of the line of mid-season varieties. Ripening time is 80–85 days after full germination. The marketability of the harvest is 85–95%.

The seed material is provided by the domestic originator (VNII named after A. G. Lorch, where the variety appeared in the 90s).

The Resource potato has been included in the State Register since 1993. Several regions are suitable for cultivation: the Middle Volga, Central and Central Black Earth regions.

The plants are vigorous, with strong shoots. The bushes do not lie down and are erect. The length of the tops is 60–70 cm. From 8 to 12 tubers are dug into 1 nest. The leaves are large and dark. Berries are not formed. Keeping quality - 93%.

Features of tubers:

  • average weight - 100–130 g;
  • starchy content - 13–16%;
  • skin color is yellow;
  • surface - rough;
  • in cooking sun appointment;
  • the pulp is snow-white, dense in texture;
  • the ocelli are of medium size (3 mm apart).

Taste quality was rated 4.7 points. Potatoes are suitable for all types of heat treatment. It is baked, boiled in uniforms and slices, fried, stewed. Friability is moderate.

The variety is rarely affected by Alternaria blight, spotting, rhizoctonia, and mosaics. The weak point is susceptibility to late blight during the epidemic. During storage, tubers may be damaged by rot if the humidity level is not maintained.

Potato variety Temp

The late-ripening variety Temp is distinguished by its large size, keeping quality, resistance to many diseases and excellent taste. It is suitable for transportation and long-term storage. Golden tubers with creamy white flesh ripen in 120-130 days and grow up to 130 g, and from 1 sq.m. you can collect more than 5 kg of root vegetables. Housewives value this variety for its plasticity, that is, for the fact that its puree turns out incredibly light and airy.

Of course, there are no completely resistant varieties, so don’t forget about prevention. But growing these varieties will reduce work on site disinfection and scab control to a minimum.

    Why is scab, although it does not destroy entire plants and fruits, considered one of the most unpleasant diseases of garden crops?

Yield potato variety Vineta (Veneta)

Over the course of more than 20 years of field life, it has received good reviews for early ripeness (about 75 days) and a fairly high yield of good quality products - up to 550 c/ha.

Other benefits:

  • Forms in one potato nest at least 10-12 tubers - oval, yellowish, weighing 75-85 g.
  • Valued for drought resistance.
  • It has high immune properties to late blight and crop cancer.
  • It boils slightly, which is why it is perfect for use in salads.
  • Manufacturers in regions with fairly harsh climates speak well of it.
  • Marketability is high, shelf life is within 87%. This storage period is significantly reduced by excess nitrogen fertilizers during cultivation.

Landing

The variety is adapted to different conditions and is undemanding to the soil. Sprouted tubers are planted in the holes from the first days of May. By the planting period, the earth should warm up to 10 degrees, and the air temperature should rise to 14–16 degrees during the day.

Before germination, potatoes are disinfected with potassium permanganate or boric acid, fungicides or biological agents. Bioglobin, Poteytin, Emistim are used for stimulation.

Given the vigorous growth of the variety, holes are dug in increments of 30 cm (in rows) and 70 cm (between ridges). Cultivated in even rows, in ridges (in the vicinity of groundwater), in furrows (in arid regions and sandy soil types).

Tasty and productive potato variety Lugovskoy

I’m sure it is known to many gardeners because it is a fairly old table variety. Over the entire period, it has proven itself to be high-yielding in most regions. His average yields are stable and often reach 500 kg per unit of dacha area.

Ripens in approximately 80–85 days. The tubers are oval, smooth, medium in size and weight (approximately 120 g). There are usually 12–15 pieces in a nest. It is characterized by low susceptibility to cancer and moderate susceptibility to late blight, scab, viral pathogens and blackleg. We love it by many for its good keeping quality. Responds with gratitude to any soil mechanical treatments

Yield potato variety Karatop

Ripens quite early, no more than 70–80 days is enough. Mature round-oval tubers have a slightly rough yellow surface and similar flesh. Their weight is small to medium - 60-95 g, starch - 11-14%.

Advantages:

  • It resists nematodes, cancer and viruses well.
  • Resistance to late blight is average, tubers are more affected.
  • Even in the Far Eastern zone of risky farming, yields of about 400 g are not uncommon. However, good hydration is desirable, because... It does not tolerate a lack of moisture very well, which can affect yields.
  • It tolerates transportation well and is resistant to mechanical stress.
  • Taste qualities are assessed as very high.

Features of care

Potatoes "Resource" are relatively demanding in terms of care and are characterized by good responsiveness to high agricultural technology.

  1. Root crops planted in open ground begin to germinate at a temperature of + 3-5°C, but at such indicators very weak growth and development of buds is observed without the formation of a root system.
  2. In order for root germination to be properly activated, there is enough moisture contained in the mother tuber, and only optimal temperature indicators are necessary for development.
  3. This variety is quite demanding of moisture. The plant needs the greatest amount of water during the period of mass flowering, including two weeks after its completion.
  4. With proper application of fertilizers and normal nutrition of the plant with nitrogen-containing components, potassium fertilizers and phosphorus are best absorbed by potatoes.
  5. Preventive spraying of plants is carried out twice in the first half of the active growing season using systemic modern means with an interval of two weeks. The use of contact fungicides involves a couple of applications after flowering with an interval of a week.

Yield potato variety Nikulinsky

Ripens quite late, about four months after planting the tubers (medium late). It has medium round tubers 70–130 g of white color and the same pulp. Thanks to good tuber formation, it allows you to get 350–450 kg per hundred square meters.

Another advantage of the variety is its fairly high immunity to the majority of various pathogens, which, unfortunately, does not apply to blackleg and common scab. It is characterized by increased starchiness and keeping quality of tubers.

High-yielding potato variety Udalets

The duration of harvest formation is average (85–90 days). The yield is high - a maximum of 600 kg per hundred square meters with 90–91% marketability. It stands out for its very large, if not huge, potatoes, often reaching 400 g each, covered with a yellowish peel and white when the tuber is cut.

The tubers are oval, with small eyes. In addition to their size, potatoes are very tasty and store well. It is mildly affected by cancer, but is not resistant to the golden nematode and is moderately susceptible to the manifestation of late blight on various organs of the crop.
